To those who purchased the DVC watches a few years ago....

Have any of you had your battery changed yet? Mine just died. I'm wondering if I can take it to a standard watch repair company or if it has to go back to Fossil. There is a little order form in the case that lists battery replacement. I'd be fine with Fossil doing it but I don't really like the idea of shipping my limited edition watch out. Even if I paid for insurance, if something happened, I won't be able to replace it. I'm wondering what others here have done.

If there is a Fossil store near you, they will be sure to have the correct battery, but then so should any full service watch or jewelry store. I often take my watches to Target to get replacement batteries, and they will even put them in for you.

Mine just died too. I took it to the mall, to one of those jewelry repair places. They changed the battery within minutes and it has a 3-year guarantee.

Is it my imagination or is it getting more and more difficult to find a place to change watch batteries these days? A lot of places won't do it unless you bought the watch from them!

I think so. I just had to change my battery in a Fossil watch and went to three stores in the mall. Finally the Sears jewelry counter told me about a jeweler that would change it. Sad, the chain stores have "cheaper" prices but no service and we are paying in the long run.

I often take my watches to Target to get replacement batteries, and they will even put them in for you.

Tried to take my watch to our local Target a few weeks ago and was told they will only replace a battery for you if you purchased the watch from them. I ended to going to Sears.
