To those who have flown from IAD/BWI at Christmastime.

We are planning a Christmas trip this time......flying 19th and 27th. Either from IAD or BWI. We definitely want non-stop. Our best options are probably either Southwest out of BWI or TED out of IAD. What kind of fares can I expect? Right now TED is at $144 each way and they have the times that work best for our schedule. Should I hold out for Southwest to open up in August or do you think TED will eventually go lower......or do I grab the $144 (which is considerably more than we ever pay in the summertime)? Thanks

It was just announced this week that SW is going to begin flying from Dulles this fall. They probably won't announce the destinations for a few more months but it's likely the other airlines will have comparable fares for those routes at least initially. So you might want to wait a bit until you see if Orlando is among the cities SW services from Dulles.....even if you don't fly them, you'll probably see better fares from TED and the others.
