To those who have been to both Rain Forest Cafes at WDW

We have been to both RFC at WDW. They are really no different than any RFC you will find in your local Mall. Now, that isn't a bad thing. The food is decent and they have some interesting things. However, you shouldn't go expecting a gourmet meal. If you do you will be disappointed. Think TGI Fridays, with a Tropical food theme, in a neat environment that the kids will love. No - it will never compete with the likes of California Grill or Flying Fish (or many other WDW restaurants for that matter) and was never meant to.

That being said, we are going to eat at the AK location using the Vacation Kingdom Lunch vouchers. Even if the quality isn't up to California Grille standards, I can live with that for the amount of decent (yes - we'll settle for just decent, which is what the food has been at every RFC we have eaten at, WDW included) food we will get for our $60.

As for DTD vs AK - I do remember the AK location being less crowded.

DisneyKidd,
Have you used the AK vouchers at the AK RFC before? What could you get for them? Does that include breakfast or is it just lunch/dinner?
Thanks!
Chris

We haven't used vouchers at the RFC yet. May will be our first time. We have used the lunch vouchers other places. The Vacation Kingdom Lunch vouchers are for lunch, but it is my understanding that the servers will let you use the vouchers anytime at RFC since the lunch and dinner menus are the same. The vouchers entitle you to an appetizer, an entree, a desert, and a non alcoholic beverage. You can order ANYTHING off the menu (including the $29.99 King crab legs or $39.99 Stuffed lobster). These vouchers can save you a lot, depending on what you order. If you order the volcano desert it takes two vouchers. The vouchers are $30.50 each. Here is a link to the menu.

If you want to have breakfast at the RFC you can get Breakfast Feature vouchers. They are $17.75 each and can save you a couple of dollars, depending on what you order. Here is a link to the breakfast menu.
