Hi, :wave2: this is our first trip in a very long time and it will be without children. We do not have children so don't worry we aren't leaving them out of the fun. :rotfl:

Can you give me a brief rundown of either must see's or dont's rides/shows/exhibits at the parks for those who have no children? We do enjoy shows and thrill rides if that helps at all. We just don't want to end up somewhere that would have no interest to us or not entertaining to the adult crowd.

:thanks: :disrocks:

I go to the World without DD sometimes (due to business or sport in the area) and really feel that most of the stuff still interest me.
You will be really surprised at some of the things you would think are just for the little ones that you end up getting a kick out of.

You will see the lines that are filled with infants and they might be the ones you hit after everything else is done.

DH and I are blissfully childfree and enjoy visting WDW at least annually.

Most of the time we fit right in--there are people and families of all types there. WDW is the #1 honeymoon destination in America, so there are certainly plenty of adults and plenty of adult things to do!

I've never really ventured into Toontown at MK, mostly because I'm just not all that interested in the characters and the play spaces there. If you wanted to check it out, though, you'd be more than welcome.

I'm determined to see and do everything at WDW, and in that spirit I dragged DH to the Playhouse Disney Live show at MGM. It was definitely kid central! The kids seemed to have a good time, but there really wasn't much there to hold adult attention. I can't see going back without a small child.

The only other place where it seems more kid-focused are situations with characters. I'm not particularly interested in pictures or autographs, so I've never lined up to see a character, but I know plenty of adults who do it and seem to enjoy it.

The characters at the character meals are great--usually very intuitive. They will always approach you, but they tend to take their cue from you. We usually just give them a quick wave and hello, and they move on. We've seen other adults who have wanted pictures and more interaction and the characters were wonderful with them!

Hope you have a great trip!!!

there's a cretain bliss to strolling through the countries at Epcot...stopping at whim .....watching the outside entertainment, not following any special schedule....aaahhhhh also visit the WL, eat a meal at Whispering Canyon and enjoy the antics! for a more "grown-up" flavor, Le Cellier in Canada is wonderful.....

my BF and I leave the children(ha!) home most of the time these days - the youngest is almost 20!! we absolutely love AK - the safari, Dino, the shows...also immensely enjoyed Cirque in DTD last trip - you should buy your tickets in advance for best choice of seats....

as for characters, I'll admit I giggled like a 5 year old when Mickey kissed me on the cheek! :cloud9: it was divine!!

as a previous poster noted, you'll enjoy many many attractions and rides that you thought were for the little ones only.....

go with an open mind and a carefree heart....you'll have a blast!!

:thumbsup2 Michelle

Now that our DD's are grown, DH and I have started going as a couple and we love it! Its easier to get up early and be at the parks at opening, ride what we want, do the shows we want with no hassles. We pretty much do everything!!
We still do a character meal, and like to try more the grown up table service restaraunts. Do whatever hits your fancy and have fun. You will still turn into a 10 year old when you go. I LOVE to get my picture taken with the characters without the kids!!!! Especially Tigger!!! :thumbsup2

About the only things DH and I won't do are Toontown and the Playhouse Disney show. (Although on solo trips I have done Toontown as an adult - Goofy's Barnstormer is fun!) Just go and enjoy!

We don't have any children either, but an annual trip to WDW is an absolute MUST for me. If I could afford it, I would go twice per year.

Although I like ToonTown, I only like Mickey and Minnie's houses, the rest feels too kid-like.

I thought Pooh's attraction in the MK was more for kids, but DON'T miss Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger spin. That's Great!

You absolutely MUST see Turtle Talk with Crush at Epcot.

I don't care for the Dumbo ride, or the tea cups,
but I would NOT miss, Pirates of the Carribean, or Jungle Cruise.

I like the character breakfasts, but only if it is reasonably calm. The Cape May breakfast at the Beach Club was great, but the Crystal Palace at MK was WAY too busy and hectic with small children.
The Yacht Club has a great, Quiet, buffet breakfast.

The only thing I avoid without kids is Playhouse Disney at MGM. Everything else is fair game! Have fun!

Don't miss Cirque in DTD-we think it's one of the best shows in WDW.The descriptions do not do it justice-our favorite thing to do is stroll the World Showcase looking for the entertainment-the singers in the American pavilion are wonderful-we've stayed through two shows because they're different each time. Jellyrolls on the Boardwalk is alot of fun-it's pretty quiet until 9 or 9:30 and then the crowd picks up. Read the guide books for more ideas! You'll have a great time! :thumbsup2

DH & I have our annual trip to Disney childless every time! (For some strange reason, both sons have no interest whatsoever in visiting Disney ever again after being part of a large family group of 16 in 2000).

We really enjoy ourselves & definitely do not feel out of place as Disney has things that interest every age level. We even do character dining & have our pictures taken with them when we see them out & about!

Epcot (esp. WS) is wonderful to take in without children...roaming about from country to country & not having to worry about seeing things that might seem boring to the younger kiddies. DH & I find there are a lot of romantic places to go to there!

MK - a must see (& my DH favorite, I might add) is Mickey's Philharmagic 3-D show. Also, there's plenty of atmosphere to soak in while walking around Main Street USA, from the Dapper Dans barbershop quartet to the various dancers & bands.

MGM - a really neat place to take your time...featuring great buildings that are a throw-back to the Hollywood of yesteryear. They have a lot more shows to see here than at the other parks - enjoy yourself, you'll have plenty to choose from!

AK - there's so much to do at this park, especially if you enjoy animal (& people) watching.

I hope your DH & yourself have a great trip! Disney is a wonderful place to go as a couple!!!

Things we like to do: At Epcot, catch british Invasion, the Beatles cover band and Off Kilter the awesome Celtic/rock band. The Chinese acrobats. The beutiful gardens. I love to watch the fountain that is timed to music, especially at night. Look through all the shops in the countries. Soarin.
DTD- Have a lat e meal at House of Blues (voodoo shrimp is my fav) Then listen to an awesome blues group. Check out the coming attractions there, sometimes they have great groups on the concert side. Cirque is awesome!
We love Illuminations and could watch it every night. There are great things for adults to do in addition to the attractions. Nancy

My wife and I will be going in about 5 weeks for our first visit there without our son. We have been about 20 times, but he is 19 now and working so he will not be going with us. I think there will be times that it will probably be kind of sad but we plan on doing everything we normally do and having a great time. The only thing different is she is a chicken and will not do the thrill rides with me.

thankx for all in insite of going to disney without kids
