On the A line, how long is it from Penn St. to 190th? Is it rough during the day?

How far by car/taxi?

I would assume that a taxi back from 190th may be difficult to get?

second, there used to be a white castle, in the city, down by the empire state bldg. Last time I looked, it was gone. Is there another in the City, or is the closest over in Queens?

Not sure about the A-Line, but the closest WC to NYC is on Queens Blvd in Long Island City/Sunnyside. Had many a lunch there while in HS.

Can't give you an estimate on the time on the A line, but it is very slow. I believe that many of them run locally from Manhattan to Far Rockaway, Qns. As for the White Castle, I agree with WhoopyPie, the one in Sunnyside is also the closet that I've seen. There may be one in the water st. area but I may be mistaken.

This past Sunday, I just walked by a White Castle on 8th avenue - I was walking from 46th to 33rd (Penn Station) and it was on the right side - sorry I can't be more detailed than that.

There is a white castle on Queens Blvd right by Woodhaven Blvd. You'd take the "R" or "V" train to the Woodhaven Blvd stop. It's right there.

I would not do the Metropolitan Avenue one in Brooklyn. Metropolitian Avenue runs very long from Queens into Btooklyn, the Metropolitian Avenue in the Brooklyn area is not the best neighborhood.
