To stay or not to stay? First night after late flight WWYD

We arrive late 10ish pm and have reservations at Crowne Plaza near Universal for a cheap rate. We're staying at the Garden Wing CR and planning to uber or lyft from Crowne to CR and have them hold our luggage, then board a bus for the Studios. My sister (just the 2 of us on this trip) is insisting that I should cancel the reservation and book that first night at a value and have disney transport our luggage to CR, then, we would head straight to the the Studios the next morning. It looks like we're saving $67 this way, but we will have 2 ubers instead of one. Thanks for your thoughts!!!

Everyone is different, but if I was in this very situation I would probably book one night at Pop if I could afford it so I could take the Skyliner to HS the next morning while bell services moves my luggage. The only caveat here is that I wouldn't really know when my luggage will arrive at CR. If I was staying at HS all day and wouldn't return to CR until the evening, it doesn't matter. If I was planning to take a break at the hotel midday and needed my luggage upon arrival, I would probably stick with your original plan to ensure I had my luggage at the hotel when I got there.

POP. We are doing this. Our flight doesn’t arrive until 9:30 so we are staying first night at POP before moving over to YC. We plan on taking the skylines to EPCOT early that morning

We have done one night at a cheaper Disney resort and then send my husband with the luggage in an Uber over to the next resort and then he meets us at the parks. I like to know where my luggage is. Disney is usually good but there have been times when things are lost in transit and the $12 for Uber is worth it to me.

Depends on if the $67 is worth it to you. I transfer luggage all the time. Nothing has ever gotten lost, but things have gotten delivered late. If you're trying to make a 6PM dinner resssie, this can be a problem. If you're still in the park, who cares?

The skyliner to HS is really great, for sure.
