Tonight, a very thought-provoking question entered my mind.

Would you report a friend if they were doing something against the values? (assuming that you had a friend that was doing this).

P.S. - I have NO intention of reporting any of my friends. :lmao:
Just food for thought.

i said yes, if they were on my friends list and i didnt know them that well i would but if i knew they very well then no i wouldnt

I voted "not sure". My initial reaction was "yes, my friends should stick by VMK values".

My ultimate reaction was: we all make mistakes. If a friend breaks a VMK value, I would have to consider the circumstances. If there was no one else in the room, and it was an "oops" I would NOT report it.

Have not thought out other circumstances... and my dog is barking like crazy at something. Got to go!

One of my friends I talk to often was doing something against values (made mention her real age to me in the game) and I did not report. We are both adults and I know there was no harm done. We were the only two in the room. I pretended like I saw nothing.

It did cross my mind that I might get a ban for being in the wrong place at the wrong time, but I will cross that bridge when I get to it. ;) No sense in getting her into trouble. :)

Since my only friends on vmk (as of right now) are people I know i real, I absolutley would not report them. They are more important than a virtual game.

If it was a friend who did things against VMK values often, I would warn them and if I had to I would delete from my friends list. But, I don't think I would report them.

Good point. If I had a friend in real that did that on a virtual game I would have to wonder what they would do over real items.

I am VERY choosy about who goes on my friends list. There are some DIS'ers on it (and I'd love for there to be more!), but most are people I know extremely well in real life.

I'm not going to report my mom. I'm just...yeah. Not going to. I've been out on my own for about 15 years now, but you know what? She's my mom!

I'm not going to report my little sisters. All I'd have to do is let them know that they shouldn't be doing what they're doing, and I know they'd stop. Same with my son.

Anything that any of them were to do that was against values would almost certainly not be intentional. It's VERY easy to go against values unintentionally. So, I'm going to have to go with a solid no, but I probably would address it with them.

Interesting discussion!

I put No because i was thinking of my "friends" not just random people on my list (I accept all friend requests).

But I would not ignore it if it was something against the values I consider very important such as harassment, swearing, etc and ANYTHING that might endanger a child. IF that occurred I would warn the friend first, though.

Yes - If it's really bad and if we aren't great friends.
No - Broke a small rule, good friend, probably would ask them not to repeat it.

Conclusion - Why would you even think of reporting a friend??

It depends on what they did, I guess. If it were really bad I think it would be the best thing to do.

I would first ignore it. If they did again I would tell them not to do it because I dont want them banned. If they did it again I would have to report.

I voted not sure. It would depend on the circumstances. If it were a child giving out personal info, I would warn them first. If they kept at it, I would report. But it would have to be a saftey issue.

The only people I usally report are people making mean/hurtful/racist remarks. I don't have any tolerence for hate in VMK. But people like that aren't on my friends list.

It mostly depends on the person and the situation.

Most of the time, I would just give them a warning. After all, everyone makes mistakes on occasion.

If they continued breaking the rules consistently, then I would report them and promptly delete from my friends list.

Personally, I don't think that most people on my list would ever need to be reported. Most are long time players and DISers. :)

I have never had to face that question. I've never seen any of my friends doing any thing wrong.
