To launder or not to launder?

Who does laundry while at Disney, and for what length trip?

We usually do 4-night or 7-night trips. No laundry for 4, but for 7 it's a toss up. Our next trip is 8 nights (5 WDW, 3 cruise), and I have 3 kids, so that's a lot of clothes. But I hate spending precious Disney time on laundry (especially with no in-unit washer/dryer)! I'm leaning toward a single load of laundry on day 5, with just PJs/undies/socks.

Curious what others do?

We do it after four days. I mean my husband does it. He loves to do laundry. :thumbsup2 Yay for me!

Sadly, I do more laundry on vacation than I do at home! That's because hubby does it at home & I do it on vaca...LOL. We always stay at least a week and usually start doing laundry on day 3. :)

Last trip we stayed at POR where laundry was by the quiet pool. I did a load or two while we were swimming in the afternoon.

I'm in favor of laundry. Last trip we did laundry day 4 late night. I like to save room in my suitcase for more stuff on the way home.

You'll probably want to wash everything before the cruise.

We do a load a night. I hate coming home with dirty clothes. If we stay at a non DVC place the hubby does laundry and if we are staying DVC I do it! Not sure when the cruise is but do you really want to take dirty clothes with you?

Staying in the Cabanas at CSR gives the same advantage...

I was actually thinking about leaving the dirty clothes in the rental car while we cruise, or maybe even shipping them home?
If you plan on laundering everything just before the cruise, you won't have to pack as much...

I typically do one or two loads of laundry mid-week on a 7-day trip. My kids still nap midday so I do it then. I can pack less if I plan to do laundry.

We do laundry every 4 days on a lower activity day. We'll do it mid-day or on a morning. Throw it in the wash, walk to the food court to get a drink or snack, toss it in the dryer and walk a little more around the resort taking photos. We've also gone swimming when at POR and just jumped out to check the laundry. When the kids were young and we did midday break for naps, one of us would throw in the laundry while the other sat with the napping kids. Just keep close tabs on how long the washer will run so you do not hold up the next person waiting for the washer!

I've done a load or two of laundry on two trips (out of 6). I prefer not to. If we were staying in a room with a washer and dryer, I wouldn't mind, but I don't like having to lug it to the laundry room and then hang out in the general area until it's finished. My husband doesn't want me to have to do laundry on vacation and prefers to have more suitcases (we drive, so we have a little more flexibility that way) as opposed to me spending a few hours doing laundry. I've started using the Ziploc space bags which make it much easier to pack more clothing so I don't even have to worry about doing laundry. With that (fairly) new Disney laundry room app/website, I'd be more inclined to do laundry if we were located close to a laundry room.

I do laundry while there but it depends on the trip.. In the resorts we've stayed, laundry is usually near the quiet pools so it's really convenient to do laundry while you enjoy a late night swing or a couple hours at the pool. It also fits in conveniently for those lazy days where you may not be looking to rush out of the room if the laundry is nearby.

I also dont' fall asleep fast so it's an easy way to do somethign that won't wake up everyone else while I'm trying to relax to fall asleep.

1 trip the rain was so bad, we HAD to do laundry and do it more frequently than I wanted.

We usually do laundry once - when we're swimming at night. Last trip we were there for 11 nights plus a couple of nights of driving on each end, so we did laundry 3 times. We actually don't mind doing laundry there - we used the laundry website thing last time and thought it was neat.
