Barb-I responded on the cruise board but didn't know if you were still checking that link so I thought I would post to you here too.
Please go on the cruise and relax, enjoy yourself. I lost alot of weight before my cruise (from size 20 to 12). I know it's hard and you hate to go backwards but here are a few things to consider...
1) When you are dying I guarentee you won't be saying..boy am i glad I didn't eat all that wonderful food on our 1st disney cruise with my family.
2) I ate EVERYTHING I wanted within moderation. I went with the idea that if I want just a bite of something I would order it. I deserved it after all my hard work.
3) I did exercise a few sea days and I always took the stairs.
Now here's the best part....The pants I wore on the cruise fit exactly the same as when I got off the cruise. But within 2 weeks they were falling off me. Apparently, by not dieting for a week I shocked by body into revving up my metabolism and started losing again like I first did when I started my diet. (Eating normal for a few days is a great way to break a plateau) Oh yeah, I just bought a size 8 pair of jeans at the gap!!
Barb-Please don't deprive yourself anything. Life really is too short to be so structured 24/7. I beg you to enjoy this trip with your dear family. And when something goes wrong (and something will) then just roll with it. Stuff happens...life happens.
Our cruise in July was incedible. So much so that my DH and I are considering not taking our 40th B-day trip to Italy next year (which has been in the planning stages since our 30th b-day) so that we can have another family cruise. Our kids will be growing up and moving on before you know it....Italy will be waiting for us.
I pray that your trip will leave a stong impression in your heart about how wonderful spending time with your family can be!!
Dieting is a way of life...it's NOT your life!!
