To hop or not to hop?

I never thought I would ask this question about DLR, as park hopping has always been a part of everyday touring for us. Considering the fact that we will be there only a little over a month after the opening of CL, however, I am wondering if it will be a better strategy to commit to one park per day. Our current plan of attack is to arrive very early, ride what we can as we collect FPs, then leave the parks after lunch and rest/swim at the hotel until we return in the evening. When we have done this during busy times in the past, we have collected FPs for both parks and hopped between them in the evening. I am just not sure if this will even be possible with the crowds this summer?

Thanks so much, Jack! :thumbsup2 I knew there had to be something, but I couldn't figure out the search to find it.

Let me preface that my opinions in that thread were specific to me and not to folks in general. Here are things that are incluencing me:

1. We are staying onsite and so get EMH every day

2. We will arrive at the gates for EMH by 6:30 each day and get full use of EMH

3. We want to try the new restaurants at DCA

4. We like WOC a lot and will dedicate an evening in DCA to see it

5. We also will spend some time at Mad T Party as we liked Glowfest and ElecTRONica - so likely a second night at DCA

6. This summer DCA park hours are 8AM-11PM - that may not hold true come September or after.

It may make sense for other guests to park hop who do not have the above considerations. Especially for folks who do not show up at park opening but like to come in an hour or two late.

Great comment. Example: today apparently RSR FP ran out within an hour of opening, and the standby line was five hours long at some point. If you have a park hopper, and you show up at DCA, and discover this, well, you might immediately turn around and head to DL. If you have a one park a day ticket, well, you are committed to being at DCA, too bad if you would have preferred to do the other park, now that you see the crowds and lines...
