To go "bagless" or not?

I am with you here. We are considering bagless next trip as well (unless rain is forcast or someone is feeling ill and I need to take meds). It's nice to scoot right through the "guests without bags line"

Have you worn a fanny pack before? Because, for me at least, they become uncomfortable after a couple of days. I hate that weight around my waist, and if it is hot, then you get all sweaty and gross where it is strapped on. I find my baggalini bag to be much more comfortable than a fanny pack.

If you haven't done the parks with a fanny pack you may want to pack your baggalini, just in case the fanny pack doesn't work well for you.

I've used the one purchased at WDW and loved it - enough pockets to organize and not too bulky. My only issue is the strap has begun to tear so I will have to replace it after only two years.

Our last trip was our first bagless trip and our first stroller free trip. I must say it was our best trip every for various reasons!!!! I didn't realize how exhausting pushing a stroller and carrying a bag was until I didn't have them this past trip. It was awesome!

We had an 11 year old and 5 year old. I carried a lanyard with my KTTW, $20 cash, my ID and my insurance card (because you never know). I put my phone in my pocket or carried it. I took pics on my phone and that was all. I had Photopass for lots of photo ops. It worked perfectly and I will never carry a bag in the parks again.

I can go bag less (well, a wristlet I stick in my pocket), but with kids I can't. I need to carry an epipen, Benadryl, and inhaler for one kid, and there's no way I'm stuffing those in my pockets. :)

Do strollers need to go through the bag check too?

I'm thinking we can be pretty much bagless and just have a couple items loose in the buggy basket, will they want to check the buggy?

I have the same question!! We stick our stuff in the basket...no bags. Wondering if we need to go through bag check!

I could never go bagless. I love the Vera Bradley backpacks. I always pack a water bottle, ponchos, hand sanitizer and snacks. The VB backpack can hold all this stuff without being too bulky plus my arms are free so it makes me feel like I am not lugging around stuff.

Strollers with items in the basket are required to go through bag check. They've always checked ours, even made us take some stuff out so that they could see the bottom of the basket. Some even check the pockets on the back of our stroller sets.

I ditched the bag and started wearing a Scottevest. Packs and hides everything. If I decide to bring the DSLR, I'll haul a small Lowepro bag, but the vest lets me carry small cameras, passes, wallet, phone, and even bottled water.

I've got a warm SCOTTEVEST coat I use in cold weather and it's brilliant! you don't have to carry a bag even with a heap of stuff. Which sort do you use in hot weather and does it get too warm?

I have a crossbody bag that can fold up tiny and fit in a pocket. So when we get to the park DH folds it up into his pocket. I spread out anything inside between all our pockets. Wallet, phones, sun screen, kids pins, sanitizer, water bottle, etc. No bag to check. Once inside i get my bag back and stuff. I purposefully dont take a lot of stuff to the parks, but having the bag comes in handy. Another plus to the bag is that it is super lightweight and has wide straps, so it is comfy and i hardly know i have it on.

Is the vest too warm for late spring/early summer? We're going in May and I like the idea of ditching the backpack and going as streamlined as possible. I took a look at the Scottevest website after reading this and think a vest would be a great option, as long as it's not too warm. I'll probably end up just going with cargo shorts and reducing the amount of things we carry into the parks.

If I can manage going bagless, I bring a tiny bottle with some tylenol/benadryl in it, a tiny bottle of sunblock, and my sunglasses case that clips to a belt loop. If rain is forecast, I put a dollar store poncho in my back pocket. When new, they fit perfectly! (folding them back up is the problem!) I also tuck some cash somewhere, depending on what I'm wearing.

I can never go bagless due to my need to carry at lease my phone, wallet & camera with me where ever I go (and female pants pockets do not let me do that never mind my shorts). Not to mention a bottle of water since I have a tendency to faint if I get overheated.

But traveling in a group, my family will usually consolidate everything and have 1-2 small bags between us (used to be up to 3 when my brother was small) so then those not with a bag were essentially "bagless" just someone else was carrying their stuff.

Ours depends on the day! A couple times I went bag less, also did a small wristlet, and have done a cross body bag as well. If I knew we were going to be out all day and not go back to the resort at all, I did my cross body. I had to have my camera, I HAVE to carry advil with me everywhere, chapstick with sun block, and zip ID case. When we are doing a mid day, I would bring a smaller wristlet, especially when we would return at night for EMH and didn't need much.
