To get an idea of the size of the WWOHP "Theme Park"

Wow. It doesn't look much bigger than the corridor from Small World to Pooh's Honeypots.

Wow thanks for sharing that link :thumbsup2

No doubt about it they did a good job, although comparatively infinitesimal it is stunning none the less. I can't wait to see it in person, but looking at the aerial shots the word overhyped comes to mind.....:)

it looks about as big as the little courtyard where Cinderella's Royal carousel is located. Not very big at all.

ADP just told me that earlier there was a 7-8 hour wait to get into WWOHP. :scared1:

They are limiting the number of people in there I am sure because it is so small.

Are there any actual attractions there, or is it just magical enough without any?

I can't believe that despite it's being so small, so many have been touting it as a "theme park". It's obviously not even close!

Just where I DON'T want to be on a hot summer day in Orlando

They're going to have people passing out from the heat - and with the crowds - it'll be hard to get to those that need help

That is about how I described it to my DW. I looked at some Universal maps and aerial photos. It looks like HP would fit into the entrance to Fantasy Land from the Frontier Land entrance by Its a Small World and got to Pooh's play ground. Maybe it might make it to the Tea Cups?

WWOHP should be its own park that captures the world that RK created. Not some corner in a park.

At least it may have rained and cooled of the masses waiting to get in. :rotfl: I have been at MK during peak times. I thought THAT it was bad being shoulder to shoulder at MK. Can't imagine being in those lines in the direct sun shoulder to shoulder with a gazzillion people. :scared1:

Later,
Dan

This was one of my first concerns when I saw the pictures of the size of the area, and then the lines of people waiting to get in....is that it could get dangerous real quick with the heat.

Hmm....the photos seem to have been re-ordered.

The new numbers are 185, 188, 189, 194, 195 and 196

I guess I thought it was going to be another theme park. I didn't realized it was a "section".

Interesting...

I see WWOHP as with comparison to Magic Kingdom:

Length from Trainstation to about the Partners statue in the Hub.

Width from about City Hall to Flag Pole across in town square. Maybe a little bit more. There are certain parts of the Hogsmeade Village area that are about as wide as the walkway between Small World and Peter Pan

The shops are about as big as Camera Center at Epcot, but that is giving them a little bit more space.

I liked hearing the podcast commentary about how small it was - can't wait for the follow-up! I guess I should plan on going on a Wednesday at 7 p.m. in February - maybe then the crowds won't be too bad! ;)

How would have liked to have paid good money to be in that crowd? but I guess you would have known what you were getting yourself into...

I'm getting pretty nervous about visiting this area next month. I have a rare chance to head over that way and we were only going to see HP. Now, I'm a bit concerned.
