*that* is the question...?

lol...

last year my piccies of Fantillusion came out pretty good from just a disposable camera... this year i'm taking a digicam and wondered whether it'd work better with or without the flash for the parade? any thoughts?

becks

At a guess the flash on your camera stands no chance at alll of illuminating what you are trying to photo.

(unless you happen to have a football ground fog type light) :goodvibes

So the solution would be to increase the exposure time.

Thats what I understand anyway,

that's what iw as thinking... and even if it did, it wouldn't catch the lights very well... you'd see all the floats liek it was daylight right? and that's not what you want!

if you increase the exposure time (looks like i'm gonna have to read the destuctions here...) wouldn't it go blurry... the lights would be streaks.. btu i guess the floats don't really move that fast... but, maybe tink and all the spider guys etc would be blurry... !??! :confused3

I can understand the theory of increasing the exposure, but I'm a really bad photographer so in practice I'm no help. :rotfl2:

I think the most important thing to get the best photo would be to keep the camera as steady as possible if the exposure is increased.

easy to say... not so easy to do when i'm jumping up and down with excitement shouting "TINK!! TINK!!" lol...

I can imagine that, I allways pack a camera but it might come out for2 or 3 photos then it becomes a hassle.

If I had a handbag however .... :bride:

I've always used the flash as I just cannot hold the camera steady enough and carry far to much stuff without the addition burden of a tripod.
Would be good to hear how some of the "professional" manage ;)
Might be worth posting a question up on the Photography board :)

I've got one of these rather diddy tripods - and it's quite good. And they are usually even cheaper on ebay!
