We booked our first cruise through the DVC this past Monday. I am planning on purchasing travel insurance for our cruise and entire land portion of our trip through my DH's company. How do insurance company typically handle claims that are booked with points that have to be cancelled for one reason or another? Or say we come down with an illness on board and have to be quarantined in our room, do they somehow translate points into cash for a refund? thanks.

i'd love to know the answer to this but think you may get more answers on the forum instead of cruise reports.

I know, the minute I posted this I was like, doh!

MODS, please move this for me? I really don't want to type it again, thanks!

We cruised last February using DVC points. I bought trip insurance through DCL and they translated each point into a dollar amount. (It wasn't very expensive). I don't know how it would be handled through your DH's company. Sorry I am not more help!
