For those of you who have had a verandah, did you leave it open all night or closed?

I imagine, except perhaps during a humid summer, it would be very pleasant to leave the door open and listen to the sounds of the sea at night.

We did the Eastern Caribbean in August, and our verandah door stayed closed, it was too hot and humid to leave it open all night.

::MickeyMo We would leave it open until bedtime and then close it.That was in May:however, we went in Jan and left it open all night ! If you do leave it open, don't forget your bungee cord. Also, keep it close when in port...a bird almost came in our cabin one time ! :-) !!::MinnieMo i

In the summer months it is just too darn humid to leave the door open, even for a moment....but....this past Feb we sailed the Eastern and at night it was just beautiful to sleep with the sea air blowing in. The A/C in our cabin was not working up to par and it was actually cooler sleeping with the veranda door open!!

Doesn't the A/C turn off when the Verandah door is open?
That's what I thought anyways -

Count us in as leaving the door closed at night -
