To character or not... THAT is the question.

The youngest of my 3 kids will be 5 for next summer's trip.

The problem is this: she's terrified of characters in costumes. Santa Claus, Chuckie Cheese... you name it. When Santa drove around in the fire truck last month, she was in my arms with her head buried in my coat as he drove by.

So.... talk to me about ADRs.

I'm pretty much set on Chef Mickeys. And I'm pretty sure her older sister would LOVE the Norway Breakfast.

Most of my remaining choices aren't an issue. (Coral Reef, Le Cellier, Fantasmic Package (probably H&V at the moment, but it changes) -- I still have one more to choose.

I'm making my ADRs in 3 weeks, and still on the fence about this.

Any suggestions?

Would it be possible to have you or your hubby take your older girl to the character meal, and have the little girl stay where she feels safe?

I'm sure everyone involved would have a better memory! And then in a few years (you KNOW you'll be back! LOL!), when she's ready, she can attend a character meal.

That's pretty much the way we've handled it in the past... we don't have a single picture of any of our kids with Santa. (They've all gone through this-- it's probably the power of suggestion after it started with my oldest.)

I'm thinking of the princess breakfast because the princesses don't wear masks or anything-- they look like real people. So maybe that will make a difference. And her sister is BIG into the whole princess thing.

And if she has a real problem with Chef Mickey's, I'll take her out, (Daddy is the photographer, so he gets to stay) and we'll find someplace that has chicken nuggests. No harm, no foul.

My youngest was afraid of the characters at his first character meal. It was Chef Mickey's, and we'd been traveling for 2 days, so he was tired on top it. We just seated him on the inside part of the table (after we figured it out, lol), beside the wall, and the characters just waved at him. Except for poor Goofy, which is how we found out he was terrified.
