To book or not to book

I know I am naughty and much to my husbands annoyance I keep looking at flight prices on a daily basis...

Our ideal dates are 20/08 to 03/09 and we had always budgeted £500pp of which there is quite a lot of options indirect - which we are happy to do. The problem is we will not have enough money to cover the 4 flights till the end of April.

Part of me wants to book a flydrive at £690 pp - which I can do today with a deposit ... which even if i discount the car is still £100 pp more than I intended to spend - but am I just being impatient? Am I still likely to find indirect flights at £500 pp in a months time.... should I just stop looking and delete the iPhone app from my phone!

Just wondered how late others have left it get flights is it worth the wait - honestly - I am never going to book like this again - I have sleepless nights stressing about to book or not to book.

Any thoughts would be appreciated and I understand that it will all be personal opinion with no right or wrong answer!

I personally would have booked it, but I'm very impatient I was getting worried about whether to book or not to book for October 2013, never mind August!!

Hi I totally feel your pain! I've asked the same question on here loads I've drove my hubby up the wall with the checking everyday (all day)the reviews on different airlines & wether to go indirect or not with the 3 kids !!!!

I have tried waiting and as we have 6 seats that I want together decided I just have to book I'm sure if it was just hubby & I we would have left it till later but my nerves have not allowed for this I have been into 5 travel agents this wk!
SO.......
I got myself down to 2 choices Delta indirect which was £2660 for 3 adults 3 kids from September 24 till October 16th ( had to book an extra day as it saved us over £400 ) or to go with Virgin at £3157 direct .......... After 2 wks of NO sleep!! And a hubby who does not want to discuss it any longer just blinking book I've gone with Virgin! I purely did this as although The delta flight I wanted to book was scheduled to have seat bk Tv they have flight with non and I really didn't want to risk that with myself let alone the kids hahaha.

I would love to hear what you decide, your dates are exactly want we want next year so will be interested to see the price difference of bookin early and booking last min.

If its any help my friend booked early for the exact same dates this year and paid £650 with Virgin for direct flights she booked these last april for this aug.

The flydry option doesnt sound too bad, what hotel? who is this with??

Would it be an option to apply for a 0% interest credit card, buy the flights now and pay off in April?
