I am SO ON THE FENCE about getting them this trip. Last year we had them for our March and Aug. trip. This year if we get them....we would go again next summer before they expire. However after reading all the issues on Dis about the MB and FP+ I am NERVOUS. What if we encounter all the issues and decide to take a year off from Dis. :scared1: Is this new system that bad that people do that?????

We are also fortunate that we can use the special 4 day military salute tickets too. However from what I am reading.... we can ONLY choose our FP+ times 30 days out and we can only get 6. So three people would use those to give 8 total days. That means one of us would have to get a military discounted MYW 8 day ticket. THEN I read that I can ONLY enter 3 of the tickets into MDE and once they are used up I can enter the 2nd set to get the next 4 days and then the FP+ times for the popular rides would long be gone. :scared1:

Oh what to do....what to dooooooo.

We haven't had so many issues with FP+ that it would ever stop us from going to Disney. They are definitely still perfecting the system, but for the most part it's fine. I am in the same position as you. I've been contemplating getting 10 day non expiring tickets rather than APs. As we make more and more WDW trips I am finding we don't go to the parks every day. Things are a lot more laid back and we're happy to spend days at the pool. Let us know what you decide. Our trip isn't until October, so I've got awhile before I have to make the decision!

I am on the fence this time, I think I may want to do Universal and maybe a cruise in lieu of my annul 2 weeks at WDW. This is going to be some what of a culture shock since I have been doing WDW for 2 weeks every summer for the past 14 years! Usually I do Universal as a short three day weekend over a holiday, and cruises usually get added to the end of my 2 week Disney vacation but I am just not sure where I am going.

We are not renewing this year. One trip planned in 2015 and a DCL. Due to DS relocating to New Orleans we have several trips planned there. We will likely go back to PAP's in 2017 when we would go 3 times. I did purchase my tickets for 2015 via UT to avoid any price increase. It also makes me feel better to have tickets on hand.

We have PAPs, and have had them last year and have a voucher for next year, since ours expire in December and they had the special. We enjoy using FP+.

There are only 2 of us.

We tend to take a year off anyway-then hit 3 trips in the next AP year. So we loose out on the renewal rate-but don't pay for the next AP for a year or more.

Just worked out we are in a year off currently so watching from afar. But FP+ will be much better for us anyway as we are late afternoon arrivers.

Buying 10 plus day hoppers every trip would not make sense for us.

We currently have AP's and have used FP+ without any problems. Are there specific problems with FP's and AP users?? I was not aware of any.

We are going again in Nov. with our AP's. But then we will take a year off and start our AP cycle again... That is just what we always do, not FP+ related.

No ...not any problems with FP+ and AP's ...just wondering if people are frustrated with new system and if so..is that enough to make you NOT want to renew or get them again. Just a lot of negative stuff on here. I have not really been on Dis too much lately until we decided to book this trip. When I logged in and saw all the negative stuff :mic: STILL...it kind of scares me.

I've had 2 trips under the FP+ system, love it! I typically get a least 2 trips out of an AP. This one it was November 2013, May 2014, October 2014. Next year I'll probably head to DL, so I will not renew. I actually never renew, it's better to have a new date to start the next one. My last one expired in April 2013, I used it in March 2013, so I bought a new one starting November 2013 to get the full year use. With DVC, you know it's pretty safe you will be back.

I still have a PAP from the first promotion that I activated in Dec but DH and I now both have AP's to Universal and he no longer has an AP for WDW.

But until you actually experience the new FP system I think you'll have difficulty deciding if it's something you like or not. We prefer the old style without a doubt. But we can work with the new one. However we are going to finally get out and explore a bit more of other parks. We've done Universal for awhile anyway.

We don't do the parks as often as we used to.

What we do is schedule a park year and use AP's to get our fill of the parks, vacationing at WDW 2 of 3 times that year.

The other years we vacation 1 or 2 times using 10 day non-expiration tickets if we want to go into the parks for a few days.

Bill. How many years do those non expiring tickets last? We don't do the parks as often either. I've been wondering if this approach makes sense.

Until you use them up.

We bought enough tickets and AP certificates to last us about 10 years or 23 vacations. It's our way of beating off the price increases.

We have actually decided our next trip in 2015 we are not going to get park tickets at all. We are going to have 7 nights in Kidani and 3 nights in VGF but we are going to relax and do all the things we fit into a half hour when we are doing the parks, we are all really looking forward to it even our 10 year old.
