To all the women... Will I be comfy in Keds??

I guess I'm one of few but I really enjoyed Nike athletic sandals last year for our trip. I also wear them for theme parks like Sea World (hear in Texas) My feet stay cool, and I don't have to change my shoes if I ride water rides (I cannot bear wet socks!) They have velcro so they are adjustable if my feet get swollen. Have a great a trip!

I agree with the majority here, skip the Keds. Skip any New shoes! My own Keds are staying home, I only wear them short periods of time without much walking. I'm breaking in Easy Spirit (soft and cushy) shoes and Teva sandals (don't seem to need much breaking in though), right now. The Tevas are coming with me and I have to decide yet whether to take my time-tested, totally worn-in, Reebook or the Easy Spirit!

Good Luck and remember, happy feet = wonderful days! :D

I boughta pair of these last fall on sale for less than 20.00 and wore them the entire 8 days of our December trip and walked in them from early a.m. til late evening (not as late as summer trips) and only had one tiny little sore spot on my baby toe the first day but continued with moleskin on it for the rest of the trip just in case. These weren't broken in either, brand spankin new out of the box. Nice thick soles too. My husband on the other hand wore broken in Reeboks and his feet were covered with moleskin by the end of the week, he'd spend 30 minutes every morning re-doing his feet!!!!

Addicted to Disney After Just One Trip

My orthopedic surgeon and my therapist stated Keds are one of the worst shoes out there! I was wearing them at the time (still do for work since I don't want to get junk on my new ones, but ortho doc gave me supports for them). My therapist recommmended Easy Spirit since I like all white tennis shoes. She wears them as well. They are very light. I also purchase a pair of Chacos sandals thanks to someone on here suggesting them! I love them! They have the support I need.

I love my strech Keds. I actually am on my 3rd pair. I have plenty of athletic shoes, but, never have been more comfortable then when I wear my Keds.

I can't afford to buy expensive sandals or expensive walking shoes just to go to Disney, I need to buy a pair of shoes that I can wear all year long.

I guess everybody is different, especially their tootsies!!!

I bring my white canvas keds with me. I wear them at night mini golfing or to dinner, mostly if we are not doing a lot of walking.

I wear Nike air max to do a lot of walking. There not the most feminine looking, but my feet are comfy!

I take Keds Ready to Wear, they're great. They have a lot more padding than the regular keds and look nicer than heavy sports shoes.

Foot comfort is a major concern to me. I have terrible feet. I had my right foot operated on a few years ago for a heel spur (plantar fascitis), I have another heel spur in my left foot that isn't quite bad enough for surgery yet. (We'll see how the trip to WDW will affect that.) Last fall I strained my left Achille's tendon, which isn't fully recovered yet. Plus, I am prone to ingrown toenails, and have had the toenails on both big toes partially cut out. So, to put it mildly, my feet suck! I hit the mall today and did my Disney shoe shopping trip. Okay, really I did need some new shoes, but I figured if I got them now I'd have the summer to break them in before our September trip to WDW. First on my list were Teva's. Boy, did I have a hard time finding these. I had been looking at them on the internet, but hated to buy them without trying them on. I called about 10 shoe stores before I found that American Outfitters had the leather Circuit style I wanted. The good news was that I got these normally $80 sandals on sale for $49.99. The bad news is that I normally wear a size 9, and the closest they had were 8's. The 8's felt okay in the store, but now that I'm home and walking around the house in them they are rubbing my little toes and my big toe is almost to the edge of the shoe. But, I called another American Outfitters store and they had 1 pair of 9's left. So, now I have to drive 45 miles tomorrow to pick them up. Gosh, I hope they didn't forget to hold them for me! The Teva's are really cushy though, so I think I will like them after I get the proper size. I wasn't planning on getting new tennies for a month or so, but Famous Footwear was having a buy one, get one 1/2 off sale. Being the cheap person I am, I can't resist a bargain. So, I ended up getting a pair of Easy Spirit walking shoes, and a pair of Rockport walking shoes. I tried on several pairs of New Balance because my podiatrist recommended them and I saw many good things about them on these boards. However, they were totally uncomfortable on my foot. The instep of the shoe didn't line up with my instep, no matter how many sizes and widths I tried on. Guess it's just my weird foot. I totally hate the look of the Easy Spirit shoes I bought. No offense to any senior citizens on these boards, but they look like old lady shoes. But, they are like walking on clouds. The more I look at them, the more I hate them but they are so comfortable I guess I'll compromise. So, if any of you Disser's are at WDW from Sept 14-23 and see a blond haired lady with ugly shoes, that'll be me! The Rockports on the other hand are very stylish, but not quite as comfortable as the Easy Spirits. Our vacation at Williamsburg, VA last summer was nearly ruined because I ended up getting 10 huge blisters on my feet. I had a 30 minute routine every morning of New Skin ointment, bandaids, and moleskin. I was a sight! I even got blisters on the tip end of my toes so I couldn't even wear tennies. I hadn't brought sandals with me, so I had to go to Wal-Mart to get a pair so my toes wouldn't hit anything. I had to wear socks with my sandals because of all the blisters, so I looked pretty goofy. I can only hope I have better luck this year...

Wore Keds a few years ago and came home with very painful heal spurs...that I still have to this day.

Boy was I ever sorry I did not take my Air Nikes.

Now I have New Balance and although they may be heavier than keds they are soooo much better for your feet if your walking on cement all day.

Once you get those heal spurs it's difficult to walk with any shoe other than a good sneaker. I can't even wear heels or a nice flat shoe anymore due it.
