TL - Surfing in the morning

We are thinking about signing our DD9 up for surfing lessons at TL. She really really wants to try it.

Anyone here tried it?
Any advice?
Any photos?

i want to sign DH up for it--He grew up in VA Beach and surfed everyday and since joining the Army hasn't been able to surf once! thought he would enjoy it!

I haven't done it so I don't know personally, but when I worked at TL every guest seemed to have a blast.

Anyway here is the info I know:

my l8 year old daughter and her friend, now my daughter-in-law did this about 5 years ago. They had a blast and were they ever sore the next day. It is alot harder than it looks. There were younger kids there and they were kicking their butts,lol. It was so neat to go to Typhoon Lagoon when it was empty except for the surfers. Just awfully early to get up on vacation though, I had to go to watch. They get good instruction and is one on one alot of the time. I think they got to go about l0 times. It was worth the money although I can't remember how much it was. Mostly all we can remember is what a great experience they had.

My teen girls then 15 and 13 did it on our last trip in '04. It is very hard to get up with the waves the first time.....but most have success. It's an early am adventure and my then 4 yr old wasn't too thrilled to be up, dressed and in the carriage at that hour....but we all had fun.
