TIW question

We will be using the TIW program for our trip in August.

Since the tip is automatic under this program, do users wait until the meal is done to tell the server that they have the card? I want to avoid the possiblity that the server will not be as attentive since the minimum tip amount (18%) is already set in stone.

I think this post is considered a tipping question - all tipping questions are confined to the sticky at the top of this board.

We have always told our servers at the beginning of the meal that we are using TiW and we have never had any issue with the service. If you don't tell them until they bring the bill, they have to go back and re-run the bill to include the discount and I don't feel like giving the servers extra work to do that isn't necessary.

It does not matter when you present your TIW card. It is your choice as to whether you wish to notify the server before or after the bill comes.
