TIW - need to decide

Will be there soon with my wife (4 days) and have reservations for 3 sig restaurants. Then again with my wife and 3 kids for 8 days. Have AP/DVC. Ur thinking TIW still makes sense? We usually have a few drinks on vacation or a bottle of wine a few times.

No brainer or still close to call? I know I have to spend $1500 which seems crazy....but prob not?

If you do a sit down once a day and enjoy drinks, with that number of meals it would probably make sense. Especially if you do some of the more expensive character dining when you're with your kids. You'd have to do the math to be sure though. For me, I have an AP and it was a party of 2 for a week in Feb. Had one signature meal and we don't drink much. We are also going as a party of 4 in August for 9 days. We had more days than you but less people and no alcohol and it made sense for us.

Not many 20% off with DVC/AP...I have found more like the 10% is more average. I'd say it could be worth it with those trips planned, especially if you have any future trip in the next 13 months that would be eligible.

We just finished a 7 night trip with table service at least once a day. I did not actualy run the numbers but we spent about 1500.00 on meals and drinks. I believe we came about even after that trip. The break even as far as I can tell is 750.00 without DVC or ap discounts and 1500.00 with those discounts but that does not include drinks. Add cocktails and wine to your meals and the few lounges that accept the tables card and it becomes difficult to calculate. We have 2 more trips within the 12 month duration of the card so I think We do quite well by purchasing it.

You will do VERY well if you do the lounges and alcohol, as you said.
Also, many are not aware that TIW includes valet parking when using the card. That can work out to be a great deal if you like to use valet.

We haven’t gotten one in a long time because we don’t usually have drinks with dinner and when they increased the price we just decided to utilize the kitchen more. But we’ve been members for 23 years and have gone to so many TS meals there, so don’t feel the need. It’s usually just two of us though. We do have a big family trip coming up and will most definitely purchase one for that, plus we can use it for at least three other trips.

It would be nice it there was a few more QS places included. I do miss Flame Trees food. We really utilized it when we had one. I’d say go for it this year and see how it works out.

Just got back. Was definitely worth having the card. Saved an extra 10% on 4 sit down meals + 20% on alcohol. I think it will easily pay for itself on our next trip.

Also they took the card at Fuel in the Dolphin. They have a great selection of beer And wine and take TIW.

Okay didnt do so many sit downs this time...Seven of us at Cali Grill, some appetizers, 4 had alcohol drinks and dinner no dessert...total..$517.00 with gratuity,tax...disc approx total$100.00..

Actualy the math says 1500.00 give or take is breakeven given that you already get a DVC or AP 10% discount. Alcohol is the one variable that each individual needs to calculate for themselves. AP and DVC do not discount that. Also, there are several lounges like Geyser Point, Victoria Falls, Gurgling Suitcase etc that offer Tables in Wonderland discount.

Unless there has been a change since January, GP does not take TIW. That is a bummer, but we also enjoy Territory Lounge which does take TIW.

That's so true - a couple of bottles of very good wine and the break even is much lower than $1500.

There are 6 places that offer 20% off for DVC, 2 are at swan/dolphin, another one is lunch only. There are also 2 places that give 15% off for DVC. We get TIW and use it for 3 trips. We usually do one sit down meal a day.
