Hi,

I have reservations for september, I have invited my parents to be with us at BLK and with my DP on SSR my two sisters with their children.

I would like to save the most on tickets and dinning, as I invited them, I will pay for that.

I know as I have read it before in another post I could have discounts buying an annual pass and/or buying a TIW card.

I looked for that post but I don´t found it. The problem is that I don´t understand it well.

I plan to travel this September but I am not sure if I could go again during the following year, so maybe an annual pass would not work for me. However I would buy it if it means more savings on dinning. I remember I read that only one in the party need to have an annual pass to have a discount, but I am not sure how it works. I know as DVC member we have a discount on some restaurants, but if I also have the AP would I have a bigger discount? or just one TIW or DVC?

And what if I don´t buy the annual pass? What kind of discounts could I have?

I hope you understand what I try to say. I need any help on how to save on tickets and dinning.

So, what can you suggest me?

TIA

If you don't buy the AP you won't be eligible to buy TIW. TIW provides for 20% off your check (including alcohol) at most table service restaurants and some quick service restaurants.

To get TIW, you only need one AP holder. The card is $60 (or $65? sheesh, I can't remember now). Ours paid for itself in 2 dinners! Given the size of the group you'd be traveling with, I think TIW would work quite well for you and would probably save you enough to justify both the TIW purchase and the AP purchase. One downside, however, is that there's a limit to how many people you can get the discount for - I think it's 10? If you have more than that, you'll have some challenges. Another con is that you'll all have to eat together at every meal to get the discount for everyone.

I think there are some DVC dining discounts but they are few and far between.

There's no discount on the dining plan. It can be a good deal for families with children, so you might consider it for the reservation for your sisters and their families. (Since you have 2 separate rooms, you can split up and not all get the dining plan - the only requirement is that everyone on the same ressie has to buy it.)
