Has anyone had to do a title and deed change? I have just started the process and wanted to know if I should hire a lawyer? I Have paid off the loan and need to remove my ex-husband from the title and deed. has anyone had experience in doing this I would love some feedback. Just want to know what to expect about taking one person's name off and leaving my name on. Thanks for all your help!

Yes, it's not difficult. Contact DVC to get the instructions and packet. You can do it yourself or under $40 or get someone else to do it for as little as about $200 or less total. LT transfers is the cheapest I know if you don't want to do it yourself.

Thank you, I did receive the packet from Disney Vacation Club and it states a title change is $475. Can LT transfers do it for $40? Maybe I'm confusing the title and the Deed change.

LT transfers is $132 plus the recording fees. You can do it yourself for under $40. The only minor issue is getting a deed to record that is accurate and meets FL law.

Is $475 supposed to be an estimate according to DVC, how much they charge to handle it for you or their processing fee?

Thanks for the info. The last contract I bought I added my oldest DD, she's getting married in Sept. so I guess I will be working on this pretty soon also.

For what purpose? I wouldn't go through this just to change to her married name and nor to add the upcoming SIL. Since she's a qualified owner, her household will get the same benefits. The discounts and other perks if she's with them and the pass discounts by being in the same household.

Oh thanks!! I thought she would run into issues with the name not being the same as on her license.

You won't have to change the title. You should be able to change the name with DVC with appropriate documentation. My contracts are listed with DVC as my middle name only while the deeds include my first name as well.
