I wanted to know if anyone has visited the Titanic exebition going on in Orlando. On one of the websites this Friday they are selling family 4 packs for half price. Is it worth it? How long did it take you to go through it?

My son loves the Titanic and this was great!! The guide is dressed like a 3rd class passenger and guides you through the exhibit. I felt like we were on the ship!!

IT took us about 1 1 /2 hours because my kids wanted to see and read it all.

It was so worth it!!

have a great time!

:sunny:

like the poster below said, it was hard to know wether you
lived or not for the younger kids, and also, they played the
titanic music from the movie and i teared up it was so realistic
in the exhibit!
so you may need kleenex.

We did the Titanic Exhibit as well because DH is interested in all things Titanic. Our kids were 10 and 7 yrs old at the time...the 10 yr old did pretty well and seemed to enjoy it, but my 7 yr old was bored much of the time. I think kids younger than this might have a hard time staying interested. It took us about 1-1/2 hours as well, though you could certainly take longer to read everything in the exhibit. DH really enjoyed it and is looking forward to going again with his mother, though I doubt we'll take the kids through again.

Also, just an FYI, at the beginning of the tour, each person is "given" the name of a certain passenger and at the end of the tour you are able to find out if your passenger survived or not...IMHO, this could be a little difficult for children to understand. It kind of personalized the experience for us, and gave us an interesting perspective on the tragedy.

Thank you guys so far for the replies! The discount Tickets go on sale on Friday I believe so if anyone is interested in them let me know and I will post the link.

Hi Doodlebug-- yes could you post the link.. thanks Michelle

I went through the exhibit in 2001 and really enjoyed it. The guides are very knowledgable and really get into their roles. I'm a Titanic buff, but I think just about anyone with an interest in the subject would enjoy it.

This is a wonderful exhibit! We saw the traveling one that came to Chicago . My DD9 and DS8 loved it ! They saw most of the movie and learned about it in school. The tickets you receive look like the real Titanic tickets and on the back it shows real information on a real person that was on it! Then they have a part that resembles the outside deck that you walk onto. It feels cold and the sky is actually the sky as it was on that night! The people who put it together used old star charts to do it. It is really neat to see, and hear the differant class levels on the ship. There is so much more but I don't want to ruin it for you. This exhibit is so well done it is like Disney did it! lol:p The details are amazing! Have fun!
