tired of bottled water in the park? here's an idea!!

You know if you don't like the taste of Orlando water (and I don't blame you!), there are Brita water bottles with built in filters. This way you can get free ice water from eateries, and filter out all that nasty stuff out of it. Then if you want, add the crystal light to it, and you have clean crystal light!
Just be sure you don't put flavored water into your Brita water bottle. Anything but plain water will clog up the filter.

The Rubbermaid salt and pepper shakers will be perfect for storing my Gatorade. I can put the large container of the Gatorade powder in my suitcase. Each day I can fill the salt shaker with the powder and add it to my water. I do not need it full strength, just enough of it to flavor my water. The salt shakers are small enough to put in my backpack or my fanny pack. Thanks, my problem is solved. I won't drink Crystal Light - it tastes funny to me.

Saw the Brita Fill N Go bottles at my local grocery store for $9.99. Don't know if it is a good price, but I think I better go get a couple before they run out!!

That's a decent price - especially since you'll carry them out of the store without paying any shipping and handling. Some people are finding them for less on clearance at WalMart and a few other places. However, if you can't find a clearance deal, I think it's better to pay full price and be sure to have them. The official word from Brita is that they have definitely discontinued production of the bottles. (Got two different answers as to whether they will continue to make the filters, but I wouldn't count on it.) IMHO, buying them at $9.99 is better than not being able to buy them at all. BTW, in my experience, the filters usually last longer than predicted on the package. We keep using them until the water tastes funny again.

I tried to get CL at my local Wal-mart today, and had to ask. Was told that they had them, but they went so fast that they had none left. :sad1: I guess for that price it is to be expected....

I do not like the taste of Crystal Light. I have purchased powdered Gatorade instead. Now I just have to find something smaller to store it in, so that I can carry it into the parks.

Go to the baby section at Walmart. They have a little storage container for formula. It has 3 compartments and a cover that lets you just poor the contents from one section. We used that last trip for son who drinks gatorade and it works perfectly. We have also done the crystal light or other powdered drink mixes for years. We have measured koolaid into individual sandwich baggies and tied them off. Just snip the bottom point off and the powder will funnel into your bottle. There are lots of ways to do it.

Lipton now has these same packets with green tea w/honey and lemon(which are really good) and iced tea w/mandarin and mango, as well as regular iced tea. They are really good. They are called iced tea to go. At our stores they were $3.99 for 10.

wow.

we are deffinately doing this next time we go IN AUGUST 10 DAYS AT THE BOARDWALK JUST FOUND OUT ABOUT AN HOUR AGO AND IM PUMPED!!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Are you serious!! Too cool!!! :)

Question though: do they taste like actual tea or do they taste like nasty Lipton-in-the-can-or-bottle tea? BLECH!

ETA: Are they pre-sweetened, or do you have to add your own?

So, go to the grocery store and crystal light makes these little packets of crystal light that are not much bigger around than a pencil and about 3 inches long. They come with 10 in a box. (at our super walmart, they sell the walmart brand, for half the price, tastes the same!)
You pour it in your bottle and shake it up!:drinking1:

I found these back in January before our 10 day cruise and I was ECSTATIC!! My little guy does NOT drink soda..and will only drink bottled water when I make him. My only altnerative on the cruise was either milk or pay for glasses of juice for him (and I don't need to tell you moms what too much apple juice does! LOL!). I bought the Crystal Light packets and they worked out perfectly!! I plan on keeping them always in my pantry, we live near the beach and it's perfect to take there AND they'll be great for our WDW trips!!!

You can also use the sugar free Tang, that comes in the canisters like Crystal Light. I actually burnt out on Crystal Light early on after my gastric bypass three years ago, but I love Tang anytime, anywhere!:) I also buy the cheap WalMart brand of water. It all tastes the same to me, so why pay more?
