Is there anyway I can pay the appropriate tips to the cruise staff before our cruise starts? If so, How? Any help would be appreciated!! We will be on a strict budget and the less we have to worry about (financially) on the ship the better.

tink386, You can prepay your tips anytime before you cruise. That's what we did on our Sept 04 cruise, and they will send the tip package to your stateroom on the last night of your cruise before you go to dinner. I would recommend prepaying tips because the line at guest services gets really long, and believe me you don't want to stand in that line. Have a wonderful cruise.tjhutch

We put the tip money in the envelopes before we leave. That way it is done. If, while on the ship, the service is better we may add to it. Either way, the tips are paid in advance as far as I am concerned. I lock the envelopes in the cabin safe while we are on board.

This is exactly what I did for our recent cruise and it worked out great! I printed the cute thank you envelopes tagrel had, put in the amount of the suggested tip and left them in the safe in our stateroom.

I had also purchased some of the telephone cards in case DS really had a great CM at the Lab. Well, he didn't even go there so I had these to give as an extra thank you as well as some extra cash for the CMs who really went out of their way to make our cruise magical! For example, Jerry from the Phillipines was our steward and he took the time to teach DS those cute towel sculptures one evening in the middle of doing his work. DS was so inspired we had to request an extra half dozen towels so he could show off his work for Jerry.
