We'll be arriving at our Disney Resort on Wednesday, July 15. As recommended by posters on this board, I'm planning on shipping a package from Amazon with sunscreen and some food/water.

Any advice before I hit "submit"? ;-)

I just did this.... I ordered Amazon prime and on the shipping I wrote down our name, polynesian resort with the address and our check in day and when we got back from the park the package was sitting in our room:)

Absolutely make sure you have an excellent shipping address. I expedited rain gear from Cabelas for a week of expected rain. The gear got there before we did the same day.
it was signed for, but took three days before we got it. It was almost midnight when we got back to the room to find they finally located it. The rest of the week was rain free.
I have no idea how they could lose it that bad, but it was a huge inconvienance. I had called ahead asking the resort the best shipping address......no idea what happened.

We had a kickboard for a stroller shipped to CR for our BLT stay and it was a mess. We couldn't get it for 2 days and they made us give them $20 (we would have tipped just to have the thing by then. Sheesh.) Worth it to have but I'm avoiding shipping now.

We're BACK! I must say it didn't work out as I had planned. They charged me a $13 fee at the hotel!!! :headache: This was at Coronado Springs. Believe me, I tried everything to talk my way out of it, and they were adamant. I was highly annoyed, to say the least. Not sure what has changed......I wasn't charged before. But this is a heads-up for everyone planning on shipping items. Amazon.com uses UPS, and there is a charge from the hotel (via the Business Office) for guests receiving packages from UPS. However, if your package is shipped via the US Post Office.......no charge. Live and learn.

Thank you for the update. We were actually thinking about doing this for our trip next year but after hearing this we will either use one of the grocery delivery services or take a taxi to get groceries.

If I'm not mistaken (and I well could be), the charge for packages is only at Coronado Springs and not most of the other resorts.

Charge *can be* for any resort that has a conference center. There are many. No values though! Almost all deluxes do. That being said, I've shipped to the Swan, Dolphin, and Boardwalk and never been charged, and at the Boardwalk the box was left in the room while we were out.
