I dont know what it is, but we rarely get the loop that we request. Best to my recollection, it's only happened once.

We've got reservations for a preferred site in May 2009. Now, it looks like the only preferred loops will be 100, 200, 1700, and 1900.

We've already requested the 100 loop, and in all honesty we would be fine with 200. For that matter, we would've been happy with most any preferred site within a decent proximity (say any starting 800 or 1400 moving toward Pioneer Hall). I'm not really that picky. :cutie:

Unfortunately, the new campsite arrangements leave only 2 loops that are incredibley out of the way. That's a 50/50 shot....

SO, I know sme of ya'll have posted that ya'll have specific sites that ya'll tend to stay in. Are there any secrets to getting the requested loop (or at least one within close proximity)? We request the one we want, then try to show up to check-in as early as possible (i.e. we try to get there around 8am).

Just wondering if anyone had any tips that they could share with the rest of us!

No real secrets, but we always request the 1600 both when it was non pet and now as a pet loop and out of like 16 trips we've only not gotten it like 3 times, two in the 1700 and one in I think the 1000.

We just put in our request when making ressie and have always gotten the loop we wanted, we do go during off season so that may help.

I call the front desk usually 1-2 days before check in, in addition to requesting a loop when making my ressie. I've only been "turned down" once in 34 years of staying at FtW - and that was over a T-giving weekend. I honestly don't care what loop I'm in if it's a short stay.

Good idea. We'll defnitely try that.

Thanks, everyone. Maybe we'll have some good luck this time. :cool1:

By chance, do you have the # for the front desk of FW? We're leaving in a week and a day and I'd like to follow up on our request :)

Has anyone ever parked at the parking lot and walked in to the loop you wanted, found an open sight and then went back to check in ? The last time we camped at FW we drove straight through and arrived a day early and took any sight they gave us. The next morning I got up early and walked around till I found the sight I wanted then walk to the office told them I found this sight open and would like to have it. They gave it to me and thought I would try this again next year.

Yes...I've done this once or twice - but usually unload my bike & ride thru the loop. It's hit or miss on a site. A site may appear vacant, but actually have someone "staying" on it. There are many, many reasons why a vacant site actually isn't vacant. One of which are the people who book a partial hook-up site just to get Disney perks - when they are actually staying off-site. (EMH, free parking, DDP offers, etc). Others may use their MH as their transportation, and still others may have to leave to get some work done on their RV. Like I said, many reasons.
