We just booked trip yesterday for 12/22-12/26. couldn't believe we got it! I am usually super planner but we are just engine it, no ddp, no adrs. We are switching our family Christmas to next week so we can tell the kids...

We are driving from Ohio. Trying to figure what part of Christmas with us...

We have done wow during Thanksgiving, do have a list of must dos. We have 3 kids, 5, 3, and 1.....so want to keep it magical...thanks!

Hi Hon
Congrats on booking your special trip

here is what we did two years ago

We took our Canadian polar bear --blow up with us and perched him on our balcony--tied a Canadian scarf around him.

Took a small Christmas tree with us and added jingle bell mickey heads onto it.
I made these using two small bells and one larger bell and some shiny ribbon.

We brought Christmas window clings to decorate the bathroom mirror and the windows.

We brought "Magic Snow Bubbles' for my grand-daughter with us. Just regular bubbles but we pretended they were "Magic Snow Bubbles"

I made coupons for each person to get a "Free" Christmas decoration from Downtown Disney.(I have blank ones in my photobucket)feel free to use.

We brought Santa, reindeer and elf hats with us.

We didn't bring presents but did bring stockings and hung them on door handles.

We brought some boxes of Disney candy canes and on Christmas eve we handed them out to the CM at Downtown Disney.(bus drivers too) We also gave little thank-you treats to the CMs at OKW check-in and restaurant staff.

We booked a family breakfast for Christmas morning at the resort and afterwards opened our stockings.

I'm sure your Christmas is going to be Wonderful and Magical.

P.S. keep those cameras ready--Santa Mickey and Santa Pluto appeared a few times at our resort during our stay.(OKW).

Hugs Mel

Cute!! We are there for such a short period of time, thanks for the ideas! Where did you get the Disney candy canes? This time we are only doing 1 sit down meal, figuring we would have more time to take it all in. Do the resorts have any special events the day of?

I'm not sure where you are staying but upon check-in you should be able to get a weekly schedule of resort activities, such as special movies by the pool, crafts in community hall, evening campfire etc.

We also bring a few special DVD's from home and some hot chocolate and pop-corn.

I found the boxes of Disney Candy Canes at the Dollar store a few weeks before Christmas.

Sleigh rides over at fort Wilderness are also very festive.
$60.00 per group of 4

Have a great Holiday

Where did you get the Disney candy canes?

I saw them at Walgreens last month.

Walgreens had a ton of Disney holiday stuff right before Thanksgiving. I haven't been back since then so I don't know how much might still be available.

just in case :) you haven't seen the other threads or on website:
decorations aren't allowed on the balconies (they actually never were, but are simply reiterating it).

decorate to your heart's content inside (using all the same safety tips and nondamaging hangers you do at home)....and please leave the drapes open occassionally so passerbys can see the celebration you created :santa:

have a wonderful holiday!!!!

Definitely check your resort activity schedule when you arrive to see what special Christmas activities your resort has. On Christmas Eve at SSR Santa was there and the kids got to sit with him and take pictures. They also had special character photo opps during entire Christmas week and cookies/lemonade in the lobby on Christmas Eve. Have a great trip!!
