Tips on a Make A Wish Trip?

How do you go about making this reservation, I have never done anything like this?:confused3 I really do appreciate your advice. I would like to have a meal with the charaters for my kids.

First go to http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/dining/diningFinder?id=DiningFinderPage and decide what meal(s) you want to do. Then call (407) WDW-DINE (939-3463) to make the reservations. Don't hesitate to mention you will be on a wish trip when making the reservations. I don't know how much it will help, but it can't hurt anything.

Do we need to take an iron or do they have one in the rooms? What about a hairdryer as well?

My husband says he remembers an iron, but neither of us remember a hair dryer. We don't use them often so we wouldn't remember seeing it if it were there. :)

I tried telling them about our wish trip when I tried to reserve 1900. The lady said, "Well, we still have to have an opening to make a reservation and we don't have one." Hmmmm.... Maybe you'll get someone nicer.

When we were there I remember bringing all our toiletries and thinking-"wow, I really didn't need these did I!" because everything we needed and MORE was given and ready in the villa. We stayed 2 extra days at a Howard Johnson not far from GKTW. It wasn't half as nice, but GKTW arranged it for us and got us a great rate(like $30 or $40 per night). We also bought an extra day to Disney and went to the Atlantic coast the last day-Coco beach and passed though Kennedy Space Center-we couldn't go to it since it was an all day affair and our kids were 2 and 4. We did a lot at GKTW-like Christmas on Thursday, Barney and friends were there one morning, etc, etc...-BUT we spent more time out than in. I have to suggest getting "The Gift of Life" book about the founder-it is a good book and memory.

As far as character breakfasts-when we went my DD9(4 at the time) wanted nothing more than eating in the castle like a princess-and I had a heck of a time getting that booked-even when I mentioned we were coming on a MAW trip-they said all were equal with that. I was frustrated since that was the MAIN reason my MAW kid wanted to go to WDW. The main reason was our party size-7(we went with another MAW friend of my daughters who planned thier trips together!)-so I finally fibbed(on the 3rd morning of getting up at 6am to call in and book) and told them we were a party of 6 (DD2 could sit on my lap and it wasn't as if she was going to eat much!!) and on the day of-they told us that our party of 7 was NO problem!GGGRRRRR! SO Please Book ASAP!!! call 1-407-W-Disney and the dining option will come up for you to make a ressie.

I'd have paid a million to NOT have a child eligible for MAW and GKTW-but it WAS a wonderful experience that we will always remember and support. We visit every time we go back to WDW and will next year too for DD9's 5 years off chemo celebration. I want to buy a brick in her (and her sisters) honor! My goal is to volunteer there one day!

I will warn you now-BRING an EXTRA bag-or you WILL wind up at the nearby Walmart buying one for the way home!!!

God bless you and your child who is the MAW kid-healing to your family-Lori

When we were there last year, they put a copy of this book in our gift basket. It is an amazing book!

My MAW kid actually is just starting to read it. I thought it would be a great book for her to understand how blessed she is and how people can bless each other-even after a rough time of it-it makes you want to give more, don't it??!! I bought our copy-they did not give them out when we went! Any money I donate to GKTW is well spent, so it was no biggie to get it. I hate CandyLand, but I want the GKTW version just to have it!
