Hi minniesota,

WOW, what great trip reports that you have posted. I really enjoyed the details. Since I will also stay at MCO Hyatt and then rent a car from Budget to get to the port, I paid special attention to all the steps that you went thru. Now I have some questions and hope you can help:

1. How far is the Krisp Creame Store from MCO Hyatt?

2. I am surprised that you were able to get a full size car for $ 18.95 plus tax. Is there any special discount code that you used?

3. How much extra time does it take to get to Publix and then return to the highway?

Thanks in advance. Look forward to reading more reports from you!

Hey Little Twin Stars,
Glad to be of service!

The Krispy Creme shop is about a 4 minute stroll from the Hyatt elevators. You can see it from the glass elevators (which is where my kids spotted in Friday night!)

Not sure when you're going, but I just went directly to the Budget website and put in pickup at MCO around 8 a.m. Saturday and drop off arond noon at Cape Canaveral. Full size (no special discounts) for 1/24 came up at $19.85 and the incidental taxes brought our bill to $25.92. You can also check Mousesavers.com under the transportation section for discounts. I just didn't find any for one day rentals. By the way, DH highly recommends you joing Budget's Fast Break club (I think you can do this online). That way, you don't stand in line at the airport counter, which we did for 15-20 minutes. You just take your paperwork right out to a booth in the garage and the cars are right there!

We had to wind back a little off the interstate to get to the Publix - we might have gone one exit too far. But our stop which included buying wine, soda, water, and sunglasses for DD and two trips to the cash machine outside the store took about 15 minutes. When you leave the store, the interstate is right there. Very easy.

So, the shop is inside the airport terminal, isn't it?

I will surely check about Fast Break club. Please extend my thanks to your hubby.

I am still wondering if Hyatt will take our luggage as we don't have the DCL transfer. But I will try. Hope I will be as lucy as you were :)

Yes, Krispy Creme is in the terminal along with lots of other eateries and fun shops including a Disney Store or two! Watch out! As far as the luggage goes, I would just identify myself as a Disney Cruise line passenger. I was handed the envelope with all the info and no one ever said there was a fee involved. I checked my Visa bill and the only charge from Hyatt was the room charge. Good luck!

Another tip from DH - drop the family at the terminal and then just one person return the car to Budget. (this was our original plan but changed our minds at the last minute) There was quite a line of people at Budget waiting to return cars and waiting to get on a shuttle. The shuttles (there are 2!) are servicing all the cruise lines - people arriving and departing. So if only one person has to hop in the shuttle - much easier. The other adult and kids can get in the check-in line at the terminal (just make sure DH has his i.d.) People on our cruise were able to completely check in, the agent just held DH's KTTW card until he got there and presented his i.d. (he didn't have to wait in the check-in line - just went right up to the counter where his wife had already checked in) We wish we would have done this since our wait for the shuttle at Budget was more than 30 minutes and then by the time we got to the terminal, a large line had already formed. If DH had it to do over, he says he'd wait until 2 or 3 and then just walk right on to the ship! But then I'm not sure we would have had the ressies we did for Palo's and the spa!
