tips for Superbowl weekend

Welcome to the DIS, pattybe! We're glad you found us! :)

There is SO much for a couple to do at WDW! Perhaps we can narrow down some choices if we know what you enjoy most (thrills, romance, shopping?) and how you like to tour (relaxed or on the go?)

Besides being able to tour on your own schedule without worrying about baby swap or naptimes, you can take in some of the more romantic restaurants (try Jiko for their incredible Monkfish and the Chocolate Symphony); make an evening of it at Pleasure Island (the Adventurers Club is a riot and a late night boat ride to Port Orleans and back is about as romantic as you can get); don't miss Illuminations at Epcot (look under Illuminations Cruise Central for other DIS-ers who have a cruise to share). Just being there and being flexible with your time is going to be wonderful!

I'm going to copy your thread over to Resorts for some answers about accomodations. Be sure to look there too!

I am planning a Fri-Sun trip with my husband before our baby joins us with grandma for Mon-Wed. Any tips for fun for new parents without baby??!! We are staying at the Contemporary through SOG, but I was thinking of staying somewhere else for Friday and Sat. Any tips would be appreciated. Happy New Year!! :bounce:

Definetly try to do ESPN over by Epcot for the game, or at least a little of it......would be fun ! Have a great time !!!!!!!!!! Go early for seats, for sure !

As requested, we are looking for FUN!! We will definitely do Pleasure Island one night. Just trying to plan Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. It is my husband's first trip to Disney and I want to make sure we go back often being Fl residents and military,

book a night or 2 on the boardwalk or any of the adjacent resorts. the boardwalk and world showcase (which are within a walk of any of these resorts) offer plenty of dining, drinks, entertainment and atmosphere that will keep you busy at night. the Contemp has the California Grille which can be an entire night experience itself, especially on nights with fireworks. We even ride the monorail around and have drinks at each of the MK resorts. If you don't drink just visit for the atmosphere. Or take a boatride at night from downtown dis to Port Orleans. There is actually much more than this but I consider these the basics for evening fun.

I love the idea of having a drink at each stop! Any suggestions for must stop and samples? Why is the Calif Grille an entire evening? We are looking for fun over romance-That sounds terrible doesn't it??!!

well considering you will have to have a drink before dinner (because you always wait for your PS) that extends the night a certain amount. The menu itself lends it self to 5 or 6 courses, while the relaxed atmosphere of being able to look at all of WDW while you eat encourages to take your time. If you plan it right the fireworks are a treat because the restaurant dims the lights and pumps the music in during the show. I suggest you take a walk out on the observation desk after dinner, without a doubt the best view in WDW. I as lounges go I suggest the tambu lounge at the Poly (best drinks IMO), and take a stroll around the Floridian. It is so enormous it could take you half the night to see it all! Take a boat to the Wilderness Lodge from the Contemp. The WL is a sight to see in itself. Fact is touring the resorts (and their lounges;) ) is an experience in itself.
