We're off on sunday for a few days, just checked the weather forecast for paris and whilst it dosnt look like it will rain, it is undoubetdly going to be f-r-e-e-z-i-n-g
Whats top tips do you have for keeping warm whilst there?

Ive got thermals, ugg boots and blaclavas for the family.
Ive got flasks of hot choc to take with me.
And ive bought inflatable cushions for the kids to sit on while they wait for the parade or outdoor shows to start.

is there anything else i cam do or take to make it a warmer experience for us all?

We got back yesterday and yes it is freezing!!
You seem very much prepered already.
I saw alot of people walking around with fleece blankets around their shoulders.

Hot chocolate in the mugs with the little hole in the top you can buy are a good idea too!;)
Hope this helps a little.

This thread may be of interest :)

Even when it is cold you still feel the Disney magic :goodvibes

Thanks for posting this useful info.
I had read some of the older threads before but at that point we hadnt booked for Christmas so I didnt really take that much notice and the only info I could remember was about the thermals.

We've got the thermal vests
Got the hats/scarves/gloves - fleecy ones
DH bought some fleece lined trousers
Got the tights to wear under trousers - me and DD not DH
DH and DD got new coats- went in a shop 2 weeks ago to buy DH some socks and came out with skil coat for DD - as you do!!!!!!
Got DD some long tops and myself long jumper

Now need to think about
Coat for me- might have to treat myself!!!

Boots/footwear for me and DD- saw some Croc Wellies yesterday but only had childrens. Not sure how warm theyd be though. Loved my crocs in summer and found them so comfy. Its the only time Ive been to Disney and not come away with my feet covered in blisters. How comfy are Ugg boots?

Handwarmers- forgotten about this

Earmuffs- looked a few weeks ago but had forgotten

we have done NY in the snow before and my crocs (with no holes) and socks were toasty warm! :)

going to try them in paris.. and hope for the best! eek!

You seem so much better organised than us!

How comfy are Ugg boots?

Very comfy and so warm i dont wear socks with mine (although i will wear socks this week at dlp)
But the only downsize is the price, they dont come cheap. h got mine from austrailia last year and they are the real thing - proper sheepskin. I cant vouch for the look-a-like ones but im told they are comfortable.

I have two pairs of the furry lined Mammoth Crocs that I'll be wearing, so far I haven't had to wear them with socks as well but I will be taking some socks!

Primark have an Ugg boot look-a-like for only £6 which my daughter swears by.

we went to dlrp one christmas....and yeah it was freezing. we baught gloves, so we didon't freeze when we did some of the outdoor rides (thunder, go carts). we also had lots of layers on...jumpers etc. i remember the coldest part was waiting for the country ho down thing, was all outside on a stone cold bench

Marks have a pack of 2 re-usable hand warmers, black in the gents gifts and pink in the ladies gifts but I've been unable to find any left in the ladies section, they are in the breast cancer section. They are on the 3 for 2 offer.

I was checking Ebay for hand warmers and found new but old fashioned style hand muff in brown, grey or black at £2.99 plus 95p postage so have decided to buy one, showed my teen and she took one look and rolled her eyes :rotfl:

However, I reckon it will be something to try as I intend popping a hand warmer inside but can get my hands out easy to take photos and won't have to take off gloves and lose them while doing so

One tip for a quick heat 'fix' is to stand under one of the gas patio heaters that are there for the CM's selling stuff in the outside. They are lovely!

Just picked up some ski socks from Matalan 2 pairs for £5 and they come up to your knees. OMG they are so warm so will definately be packing those for our Jan trip.

I just bought a pair of salopettes from ebay ...already got my ski suit and snow boots..I'm not risking another Jan 07!! Freezes yer lungs!!!! Gonna get a ski suit for my daughter..my son got his already...husband doesn't want to look like us so he can freeze and pack his own stuff!!:rolleyes1

Im planning on freezing in January lol, i mite take a hot water bottle out with me when i leave the hotel lol not sure if thats allowed. I can hide strap it to my body lmao.

I was saying that the other day!!:rotfl: Take boiling water in your flask to put fresh hot water in for later!!....I'm telling you its minus 6 here in the mornings (inverness scotland) and its bringing back sooooooo much memories!!!!;)

I,m hoping to go next year at around this time. I remember how absolutely freezing it was waiting for the parades but I'm not sure what the best footwear is. Last time I wore trainers but my feet were absolutely perished - you walk so far that foot comfort becomes such a big issue and as I have a walking disability it's even more vital that my little toesies are comfy. Any suggestions?

When we went Christmas 2005, it started out very mild but ended up at -8!! :scared1:

I wore thick tights (like the 40 denier opaque ones) under my jeans with a thick pair of thermal walking socks on top inside suede walking boots with furry linings (similar to the Caterpillar boots). Both my socks and boots were inexpensive, I think I bought them at Asda, but my feet weren't cold at all. I also used a Goretex waterproofing spray on them befrore we went and it worked as the snow never seeped through.
