Hey DISboards Community

I've always been enchanted by how Disney parks become more magical once the sun sets. Based on my experiences planning evening visits can be both thrilling and a bit tricky. I've noticed that some attractions really come alive at night and the cooler temperatures definitely add to the enjoyment.

So what are your go to strategies, for making the most of your evenings, at Disney parks? Are there any shows. Rides that you absolutely prioritize?. How do you navigate through the parks once darkness falls?

I'm eagerly looking forward to hearing all your tips and stories!

DH and I usually don’t enter parks until late afternoon nowadays. So I take advantage of booking ILL$ in all 4 parks for the rides we want that have them. We also buy Genie+ for MK and DHS in the morning and take advantage of being able to modify and stack LLs and also to overlap return windows so that we can travel efficiently from one to the next - I hate criss crossing the parks!

I also check the show and entertainment schedules before booking anything and keep them in mind when booking ILL$ and LLs, for the same reason. Not to mention any ADRs I’ve made!

Hopefully you’ve found the threads on Everything Genie… and Everything VQ… on this forum. The first few posts in each one contain essential information for planning, and @scrappinginontario does an awesome job keeping them up to date!

I personally love Big Thunder Mountain, 7DMT and Tomorrowland Speedway at night. Peoplemover too. Anything outside that gives a view of the parks at sunset or lit up in the evenings. Galaxy's Edge and Pandora, of course, are stunning at night as well. I also just like staring at Spaceship Earth when the sun goes down.

Really glad to see you mention Galaxy's Edge at night. We're going for the first time toward the end of January, and my sister and I really want to see it at night . . . so, we're planning our park hopping to allow us to be there late afternoon and into the evening. But some friends thought that GE was not much at night and felt really dark. Glad to hear you say it's great, because from the walk-throughs and pictures we've seen . . . it looks beautiful.
