I've been to Disneyland once, Feb 2015, and it was great because crowds were so low.

We're going this July for 4 days, and unfortunately that was the only time that worked since this is a big family trip and one person can't get time off after school starts. I was wondering if anyone had good tips on what I'm sure are crazy summer crowds? We'll probably do one weekend day and 3 week days.

Also, parkhopper yes or no? We had it on our 3 day trip last time and only used it one day, and it was because Fantasmic got rained out the night we did the dinner package and they gave us fastpasses for the next night. We only hopped for the show that night.

For a July trip, we discovered we needed to take things slower when compared to Feb. We make more use of the early mornings, fast pass, afternoon shows, etc.

Oh, and hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!

Def arrive early you can get sooo much done in the first few hours of park opening!! We would usually ride rides for the first few hours then maybe do a show or animation academy then maybe lunch then back to our room for a swim and break and then wait til 4/5 and go back to the parks. Also use fastpasses!! Instead of carrying around a ton of water we would stop and get free ice water at counter service places and it helped sooo much!! We love parkhoppers just because if it gets super crowded in one park you can always go across to the other!! A lot of times we would start at the park that did not have Magic Morning then after our break go to the other park.

I completely agree with luulu1999. Those early morning hours are golden. We always break mid day (around 1:30) and lunch and take a nap at our hotel before heading back between 4 and 5. The warm summer evenings are fantastic, and being rested mid day means you beat the heat, and also have energy to enjoy the evening!

I think you'll find you hop more when it's more crowded... I can't imagine a summer trip without hoppers. If one park gets really busy, just move on over to the other! It also gives you lots of dining options when you have the option to hop.

Enjoy your summer trip...I love Disneyland in the summer!
