tips for 1st trip with 11 month old

any ideas/ do's/don'ts for our first trip with a little one. we have been 6 times just my wife and i. we are going for 3 days week before xmas

The most valuable thing we brought along last Jan. for DGrD (then 6 mos) ended up being the heavy, clear plastic stroller rain cover - not just for the rain (which we only had one night), but on the chilly and (several) very windy nights it kept her snug as a bug in her stroller and she could still see everything just fine ! Many times the poor thing would gasp at the cold air when we had to lift it and take her out ! The days were beautiful (low to mid 70s in mid Jan), but most evenings it got cold pretty fast when that sun went down !! You're going to have such a wonderful time - what a wonderful age - so much 'magic'!!!

We were there in Sept when dd was 11 mo too. She was much easier then the 4 yr old!!! We made sure to bring her back to the hotel for an afternoon nap which helped a lot. We bought disposable bibs & those stick on placemat things which were great. We brought pre measured formula & her bottle & bottled water to make bottles for her in the park. DD was about 20 lbs but we used our baby bjorn to hold her while we waited in lines & on rides. She went on everything without a height restriction & she did GREAT! She loved everything except non human characters! We brought lots of distractions like cheerios & toys but never needed to use them since the parks were distraction enough. She did not mind the dark or loud noises. Here is something fun to do: go to Harmony Barber Shop for your 1st haircut & get mouse ears that say First Haircut on them!! You'll have a great time!

We went last feb with our daughter who was 15 months. I'm not sure how well your child is with solids, but we found the stuffed pretzels (with cream cheese and cinnamon) to be a nice snack for her when we were in between meals. I remember the snack shop in Tomorrowland had them, and we also found them at one of the snack places at MGM. (If I recall, the place at MGM only had "jalepeno cheese filled pretzels" on the menu board, but when we asked for the cinnamon cream cheese ones, they had them too.)

Well I don't have any advice for you. We're taking 10-month old DS next month. I have lots of worries for this trip. Good luck to you. I'm sure we'll both have great trips .

One of the posts hinted at this - strollers are not allowed in lines or in any of the attraction buildings (they can be brought into shops). So, you really need to bring something to hold your child in line.

We bring a baby sling which works great for the lines or when they want out of the stroller to be held. We've taken our kids as early as 3 months old--whatever age is perfect. You will get wonderful pictures. Just be aware that you won't be able to move as fast as when it was just the two of you. You will probably do different attractions too. We find ourselves doing certain rides/attractions again and again. But when you see it thru the eyes of your child it doesn't matter how bored you are with it! Don't worry--just go have fun!
