Tipping

We are going to be staying at our home resort SSR for the first time this year and are not sure how much to tip various people!

I know valet parking is free but what sort of tip shall i give? When should i give it when he takes our car away or when he comes back?

Also how much should i tip for bell service? Should i tip for the number of bags or is there just a regular charge?

If you are taking your car out frequently then I would limit the valet to around $2.00 each time, if it's a one time deal, then more. As far as bell service the rule is generally $1.00 per bag. They love me because we always have alot of bags.

Hi,
We usually tip a $ a bag or minimum $5 and if we are there a full week we leave a couple of $'s for housekeeping too. As for valet parking I have followed a debate before on the US boards and they vary how they tip but the majority seem to give a couple of $'s each way so that's we do and they always seem to bring the car back..

Can't help with the valet charges, but we go with the $1 per bag rule of thumb for bell services.

We usually leave a couple of $$s for Mousekeeping on trash and towel day and/or at the end of the stay, depending on how long we're there.
