I was reading a thread over on the Budget Board about tipping and the DDP.

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1201369

The poster stated that the non Disney restaurant waitstaff do not get the 18% of the check tip like the normal Disney restaurant waitstaff. But instead they get a set amount(about $5.00 per?) based on how many table service credits are used.

That seems like a pretty bad deal for the non Disney waitstaff. Thier tips could often be less then 10%.

So is this true? If so I guess we should be tipping abit extra for non Disney restaurants. So what TS restaurants are non Disney ones?

We're playing with semantics, the non-Disney restaurants discount the check down to what Disney is paying the restaurant ($22-$25) and the server is tipped on the discounted bill. Those restaurants don't even give us a check that lists the menu cost of the meal, that's one way you'll know. Chefs de France, Maya, WPC are three examples.

Yep I can understand the semantics bit. But I'm a stickler for tipping and not shortchanging the waitstaff. So to me the waitstaff should get the same tip whether the diner is on the DDP or not. If I order $50.00 worth of drink/appetizer/entre/dessert and the waitstaff only gets tipped on $25.00 worth of meal I'd feel like I was leaving a bad tip.
