I know this question has been asked quite a few times on the board, but when I search it, I'm not coming up with the answers I'm looking for...so I'm just going to ask again..
I wanted to know how much other brides tipped certain people or if they even did

*charter bus (I have 2)
*limo (also 2)
*DJ
*Reverend Jack Day
*Organist
*Randy Chapman
*Disney videography

I already know how much I need to hair and dress steaming. I am sending a gift to my EM and his assistant. Is there anyone I'm forgetting?!?

Subscribing... I've been wondering the same thing. If you don't mind me asking, what are you giving your EM as a gift? I am clueless about what to give mine but would really like to do something nice for her. I asked her about her wedding and she said that they had their rehearsal dinner at the California Grill so I was thinking maybe a gift certificate there would be an option :confused3

You are not required to tip vendors that own their own business (i.e.-Randy Chapman). Unlike hourly employees who work for a company (such as most limo drivers, etc.), people who own their own business benefit from the entire profit that results from you using their services, and therefore a tip is unnecessary.

I think that is a good idea. I have Ken Weaver as my EM and a couple people told me that he likes wine and champange, so we went to a local winery and bought a couple of bottles for him.

Bumping for more answers:confused: Leaving for Disney in 2 days!!! Ahh, I'm getting married!!!:goodvibes

I don't know how helpful I can be, but here goes:

*charter bus (I have 2) - Didn't have
*limo (also 2) - Tipped the limo driver $20 (I think, DH tipped him but I am pretty sure it was $20)
*DJ - Didn't have
*Reverend Jack Day - $40 after the fact - I mailed him a Thank You note, a picture of the three of us and $40 cash. He was great! He kept DH calm, and more importantly, he really helped me with a prayer for my mom.
*Organist - we had a solo violinist and I did not tip him (I did not tip any Disney employee)
*Randy Chapman - like IrishCinderella said, you shouldn't tip people who own their own business, but that's up to you. We had Disney photography and did not tip him (again, I did not tip any Disney employee)
*Disney videography - Didn't have

I did not tip or send a gift to my EM or Rosie in Disney Floral. I sent Thank You notes and Rosie acknowledged hers with a sweet note back. I just felt it was their job, Disney pays them, and although Rosie was amazing, I didn't feel our EM went "above and beyond" and I think people really should go "above and beyond" to get a tip or a gift. Just my opinion . . .

I tipped our DJ $40 as he did an amazing job!!
I tipped Rev Jack $20
I didnt tip any of the outside vendors - or Disney employees.

I gave a gift to my EM - who was really sweet and came and said thank you!

Also subscribing....

Isn't Reverend Jack the owner of his own business, I am not sure if he should be tipped?

I didn't tip anyone from my custom except the girl who did hair/makeup (she made out with a small fortune). I've always been SO GUILTY about it too but we used every penny we had to get married. I am absolutely sure the bus driver was well tipped as my family had a party of their own on the bus. Oddly, there are no pictures...just stories!

If I were to do it again:

DJ - Without a doubt!
Randy - I don't think so
Coordinator and Rev. Jack - Atleast something small
Limo - Long story on that one but no.

True, but for me Rev. Jack went WAY above and beyond and I was happy to tip him. He really helped me that day with the loss of my mom and he got DH to calm down - not an easy thing to do that day! He said a special prayer for my mom and it was exactly the right words. Unlike a lot of brides I have seen post here, with us Rev. Jack hung out after the ceremony, gave our toast, had cake and cider, and stayed for extra pictures on Sunrise Terrace. He was great :goodvibes

My hairdresser got double tipped - she was my personal stylist from when I lived in Orlando, so she made a special trip to WL. My MIL surprised me by paying for all the hair and she tipped her and then I tipped her. She was great! She actually made me look like I had hair  she totally deserved those tips!

Thank you all for posting this information! I too just started worrying about tipping. I'm going with mostly Disney stuff, so I don't think I'll be giving out many gifts. Phew!

Not neccessary to tip the REV.
Planner...absolutely tip, consider the fact that they are the one who is with you from the beginning & making the event happen!
Dealing with the bride, groom, parents of each family is a tall order.
Especially during the planning stage.

Is there like an overall percentage rate tip per service being provided???

I probably wouldn't tip any Disney folks either - after all, what else is that whopping 20% service fee for?

Rev, probably not.

Hair and makeup - yes.

Unless I get a change in my WP, she won't be getting anything from us. We are not happy with her at all.
