Tipping on dining plan with credit card or gift card?

The title here kind of sums it up...we will be in the World in 18 days (!!!) and as this has been a last minute trip I haven't had time to pore over as much information as I would like.

This is the first time we are using the dining plan. I'm aware that gratuities are not included. We don't want to carry a lot of cash and are planning on using gift cards nearly exclusively while we are there, minus linking a credit card to the room.

Since we will be doing that, can we put tips on the credit card or gift card? Ideally gift card, we received a lot of gift card money for Christmas and obviously want to use it.

I'm an experienced Disney-goer but honestly some of the ins and outs of the dining plan just have me all tripped up!

I use my magic band to charge to the room and then pay the charges every couple of days with the gift cards. I don’t like carrying cash or gift cards if I don’t have to.

Or, if you don't want to use your magic bands, you can use either gift cards OR credit card. It matters not.
