Am I expected to tip at the Bibbity Boppity Boutique?

What about the Kids Clubs

If so how much?

That topic came up before we went to the BBB & everyone said you are not to tip there. I didn't tip & to be honest I didn't see anyone else tipping either. Not sure about the Kids' clubc.

you should absolutely tip at the BBB. i cant imagine going to a hairdresser and not tipping:confused3

the kids clubs, no i wouldnt tip there. you are paying a service fee to take care of your children, basically that is a tip. plus more than one person cares for your child, so you wouldnt know who to tip.

ETA i would think 15-20% would be your average tip for a hairdresser. i always tip 20-25% but its up to the patron to decide how they liked the service.

I didn't tip at the kids club (used Simba's Cubhouse once) as I didn't think it was a tipped position.

I thought BBB was a salon type place, so never having been there I would have thought you did. I don't know - DD is a tomboy and would kill me if I tried to take her there! :rotfl2:

It get conflicting information. I always tip at salons. BBB is a salon but they are also Disney CMs and you are not supposed to tip them. When I pay with a credit card there isn't a line at the botton to add in the tip like with other salons so I figured no but I read somewhere on there that someone tipped their Fairy Godmother.

The at Simbas Clubhouse a few years ago there was a tip jar! I was shocked because I just had my Key To The World Card and not a dime on me.

My DD is going to the Netherland Club so I can say goodbye to the Adventurers Club and she is THRILLED but I want to make sure I am properly tipping if I should be and I am budgeting for my restaurants tips which will be significant.

Can't help on the kids clubs but I know that when we went to BBB last year and tried to leave a tip the fairy godmother in training told us that they are not allowed to accept them :)

.

They are NOT hairdressers. They are Disney employees who decorate your hair. If I remember correctly, there is not hair salon permit which is why you need to bring your own hairbrushes/combs & they do not cut hair.

I was told not to tip - I didn't tip them & I saw no other people there who tipped. They are CM & are not suppose to take tips.

We went to the BBB in January. We did tip our FGMiT.

We tipped the one who did DD's hair $20, the nail person $20 and we tipped her personal shopper $10.

We got the package that included the dress and hair and make-up. It was just a wonderful time for her.

We have never used the kid club.

You had 3 people to do the BBB? Each of my girls only got one person who did the hair, nails & make-up. We didn't get the dresses but when we went I saw the FGIT taking the girls themselves out to pick out dresses. Did you go to the one in DTD or MK? just curious.

honestly- you tipped more than my one dd's entire package was!

do you prefer the term stylist? either way i feel they should be tipped...if you dont then dont tip them. every person i have ever spoken to that had their childs hair done there has tipped them.

Don't know about BBB, but I remember when my husband and I were in Germany (Epcot) he so wanted to tip the bartender because he was so helpful and spoke with my husband for a little bit in German (my husband knows just a little German - 'cuz he goes to the real Germany for work). Anyway! My husband really wanted to give him a tip, but he couldn't accept. I would think that the ladies, stylists, or CMs, whatever you call them - should not be able to accept a tip, just like he couldn't. They're all working for Disney, right? :confused3

We visited the BBB the first week of August and we did tip our FGIT. I think it is fairly common practice as the FGIT did not appear surprised. We did not use a kid club as our youngest was not old enough to attend. We did use a baby sitting service and tipped the caregiver as I'm sure the company who contracts her takes a large portion of the money charged per hour.

thats strange, weve always tipped our bartenders and servers and they are all considered CMs. its possible that he was on a higher pay scale than a normal bartender:confused3

We were told not to tip our FGiT during our last trip in January 07. However, I think that they DO accept and appreciate tips now. I need to make sure we have enough cash, as we generally just charge everything to our room.

Yes, we love the pettis. I want one for me too! ;)

In Feb 2008, I asked staff at cash register if the tip was included in the price (like DDP used to include tip). They said no. I asked if I could charge tip on credit card--they said they can only take cash tips. We tipped about 15% on the $50 package--I think "coach"?
