Tipping bell services on an early arrival?

We plan to roll into Pop around 9 so our rooms probably won't be ready. How do I go about dropping my luggage off at the hotel to be stored until my room is ready? And who do I tip? I don't want them to unload it. I can load it and take it inside. We plan to go to Epcot for the day and probably won't be back until 9 or 10.

There is a bell services desk outside the main entrance. They will take your bags and then drop it off to your room when it's ready. If I remember correctly, you need to be in your room, then just call bell services and they bring the bags right over.

Is this the same process at Values too where they don't have Bell Services, they have Luggage Assistance. Also it is my understanding that Luggage Assistance delivers luggage to rooms on a set schedule, not on demand like Bell Services does. @Alucard84 you should see if you might be better off (maybe not) to pick up your luggage yourself when you get back from Epcot.

We always leave our carry-ons with Bell Services and pick them up ourselves later. We tip both when we drop them off and pick them up.

At the very least, tip when retrieving your luggage, whether you pick it ul or have it delivered.

I tip when dropping off and picking up (or delivery to the room) since it's likely that a different person will be hauling the bags each time.

?? I have never seen anyone question whether bell services can accept a tip! It's a standard tipped position. I usually tip when dropping off and picking up my bag also.

I have arrived that early at Pop and my room was ready, so you never know! I did not make any room requests to provide the best chance of getting a room at arrival. I did not get a room ready text, but when I checked at the desk they said it was ready.

You can find several older threads where people indicated the person refused the tip. Others also said various jobs are not able to accept tips. Was just relaying what others have said.

Bell Services can indeed accept a gratuity. in 14 years I have never been refused when I offer a tip, leaving my bags, or having then delivered to my room, or picking them up when we leave the resort. The threads you refer to must be wicked old.

Usually we only leave one or two small (under the seat size) carry-on bags on our departure day. Now I’m wondering if I should also be tipping when I drop off. Does the size of the bag matter? Should a small carry-on bag be any different from very large suitcase?

Also I don’t tip when I pick up a single bag of groceries from bell services (I do tip if they bring multiple bags, or even one bag, to the room), but I do tip when I pick-up my carry-on bag that is approximately the same size as the bag of groceries...I’m now noticing this inconsistency. Do other people tip if you’re picking up a single bag of groceries?

My philosophy is if I have any doubt,I go ahead and Tip.

The amount of money I Tip is so insignificant when compared to the total cost of the Holiday,I don't worry about when to tip or not to tip at all-I just Tip if there is any "chance" I should.

There are positions at WDW that are not allowed to accept tips. Bell Services is not one of them. They're classified as a tipped position and receive the reduced wages that go with that, as it is expected that the guest will tip.
