Tipping and DME

Only if he touches your luggage. If you will be having DME deliver your luggage to your room, the tip for that individual has already been taken care of.

On your return trip to the airport, you will tip that DME driver because he will be loading your luggage onto the bus.

Tip is usually $1 per bag.

Have a great trip!! :goodvibes

I actually tipped our DME driver even though he never touched a bag of ours!! He was just so darn much fun. He kept up a steady stream of stories and info about the area. He was a hoot. As I handed him $5, you should have seen the looks I got from the other passengers....the vast majority of them started fiddling with things and looking in every direction but the driver. I'm not saying that you should automatically tip the driver, but if he/she goes out of their way to provide a much nicer experience, then go for it. There were even people picking up their bags, and in some cases it was about 6 bags, from underneath the bus...still no tip for that driver. We all look for the 'magic' when we get to WDW, but sometimes I think the 'magic' starts with us!!!

Well, we were flying SW, so we had to store our luggage in the bus. We tipped the driver.

On the topic of tipping, holy cow, it seemed we tipped EVERYONE! OK, when we were checking out, dh tipped the guy who came to our room to get our luggage. Since we had to check out several hours before our ME bus, they stored our luggage for us. When we were heading to the ME bus, dh tipped the guy who brought our luggage out from storage. Then he tipped the ME bus driver when we got to the airport. There is no curbside check in where the ME bus drops you off, so we got one of the guys waiting there with the luggage cart. He got tipped for carting our luggage to SW's curbside check-in. Then, the guy who checked-in our luggage got tipped. I do have to add that we had 6 people so LOTS of luggage. Dh was tipping $10-$20 to each person.

Oh, and dh tipped the maid. And he tipped the skycaps back at home when we first left for the trip.

Oh, and the limo driver back home got tipped, too.

I didn't tip the guy who brought the crib up into our room (dh wasn't there when the hotel person got there).

I don't think dh gave extra tips for the Dining Plan. But I know he tipped the bartenders.

I don't want to even add up how much dh spent in tips....I'll guess $200-$300...who knows! I didn't budget that into the trip. I don't even think of things like tipping.

Oh, yeah - ALWAYS tip the Skycaps! Those are the airport people outside who tag your luggage with, ideally, the correct destination, right? ;)
