I am having some furniture delivered next weekend. How much should I tip the deliverers?

For me, it depends on how much stuff is being delivered, and if stairs are involved. Usually $20.00 for a basic delivery. (2 guys, under an hour, no stairs beyond the few to get into the house).

no tipping for delivery here either.
The movers, I had cookies, water and other drinks ready. But that is is.
All other....nada.

I have not tipped for delivery either....when we have purchased something large it usually had a fee for delivery.

I tip with two $10 bills (once I handed one of the two delivery guys a $20, and I could see the two of them were going to be arguing how to split it) if they get the furniture in without messing up either my house or the item of furniture.

But I only get really big items delivered. Anything smaller than a couch, I can stuff into my hatchback. I wouldn't tip if it's something small and cheap.

Does this mean I should tip when my washer and dryer get delivered, too? :confused3

If I've paid for delivery, I do not tip. And I couldn't tell you the last time I didn't pay for delivery. Oh wait -- when my dryer was delivered, delivery was included. My dh went to tip the guys because they really went above and beyond what they 'had' to do and they refused the tip saying they were already paid for delivering.

$5 - $10 per guy, depending upon how much furniture, and how heavy/awkward it is.

I usually give about $10 or $20 each, depending on what was delivered. If it is a room full of furniture, I give $20. If it is an appliance, then $10.

I usually tip $20 for a furniture delivery.

We just did this...we moved here to CA and picked out quite a few items from IKEA....king bed, bureaus, living room set, dining room etc....we selected delivery. Cost was $49.00...pretty good I thought considering everything I bought. :goodvibes

Now they had to carry these items up TWO flights of stairs (17 steps each). No elevators here and why I have no clue. :headache:

We gave the 2 men to split $50.00!!! It was a very hot day. :goodvibes

Usually $20 if it's on our first floor. The tip goes up if they need to get something up the stairs.
