If you decide to bring your own or buy one, which they have some great ones in epcot and the animal kingdom a great way to pack them so they don't break is to use a kids "swimmy" and blow it up slide the bottle in the middle. Then if you have kids you can also use it in the pool, when not in use deflate :thumbsup2

What a great idea!

We bought some bottles of wine at the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot a couple of years ago. Although they were packaged so that they would (supposedly) not break, they banged together and broke on the way back to the hotel! (Unfortunately, we were walking quickly through a torrential downpour right before Hurricane Wilma, and were probably walking more quickly than we would have otherwise.)

We may try your tip this year!

When you say packing do you mean in your stowed luggage? I was thinking of taking a bottle down, but I was affraid to put it in my luggage. Laws, breakage:confused3 Im not sure of the rules.

when i went down in july i packed little bottles of liquor in my checked baggage. They were not the shot sized bottles they were jsut a small bottle (16 oz or something) They were glass. I just put them in ziplock bags and put them inbetween my clothes. Had no problem what-so-ever. Didn't break on the way down or the way back (we wound up not even opening them). lol
I did look up rules and stuff and I don't remember technicalities but the bottom line was I found out it was ok I think as long as it was within the US(like i said i don't remember details) So I just thought id let you know. My parents also do this all the time when they go down and its never broke on them either. So just a suggestion. It takes less room than a swimmie I guess it just depends if your willing to take a slight chance.

BTW I think I double zip lock bagged it

When we just went last week I packed a box of wine (don't laugh they make pretty good box wine now) in my checked luggage and had no problems at all. If you're looking for a red wine, try Hardy's or Black Box.

I bring wine (and other spirits!) all the time down to WDW. we tuck the kids in bed and sit on the balcony for an adult beverage. we unwind, and save money by bringing our favorites with us!
When I buy the wine at the liquor store, I ask them to put one of those green mesh things around it along with a brown paper wine bottle bag....know what I mean? (if not, ask the clerk, they will know what I mean!)
Then I put the meshed, bagged bottle in a zip lock--just in case and roll my p.j. s around it (that way if there IS a leak, you can always live without p.js for a night.....go undies! lol!

you can also buy the single glass, mini bottles of wine, roll in paper towel, place in a sandwich zip lock and pack in your shoes........works great!

do not forget a wine key for the larger bottles though, I did once and it defeated the purpose.

have fun!!!!!!!!
