I have read that those staying in hotels tip certain people - porter, mousekeeper, etc. We will be making all our own food due to food allergies, so no wait staff involved.

Is there anyone at FW who will be expecting us to tip them? I'm just tryin g to be prepared rather than caught unaware.

Its always nice to tip housekeeping...if they do a good job. A dollar per person in your room per day is the customary amount. If someone is carrying your bags...a dollar per bag is customary.

But would either of those apply at the campground? I'm not expecting anyone to come clean up my tent every day.

Oh I see i think he was thinking you were staying in the cabins. Nope don't expect housekeeping to come to your tent you are on your own! Enjoy!

Being at a campsite, you shouldn't run into any tipping situations at the Fort outside of dining at Trails End. Although Frank accepts tips for pointing you to the best fishing spots.

It's always a good idea to give your neighbors a tip----

Curb your dog and keep quiet at night or else......

I am a dog lover and love to chat with all the friendly neighbors.

Don't worry, they will let you know. If I remember lot's of the dinner bills had suggested tips based on %. I know you said your not eating there. Some of them actually have the tip. 18 % added into the bill.

If I tell ya how to handle things, how bigga tip ya gonna leave me ?:rolleyes1

Normally there is no need, but a buddy of mine did tip a maintence worker when he came out and solved an A/C issue.

Maybe if you go horse back riding or get some kind of super duper service.

I offer a valet parking service for your golf cart. I cannot, however, guarantee I will remember where I parked the cart. My memory gets much better with a tip.

The last time I was at the Fort with our trailer and 4 kids the housekeeping staff (aka my DW Nancy) started to keep a running tab - by the time we left I owed her the equivalent of a cruise with one day at Epcot plus airfare. :thumbsup2

Although, I have to say, toward the end of the week I did see her sneaking off to the comfort station to do laundry with a paperback and a bottle of rum. I offered to help and I seem to recall her saying she had it under control and she would be fine. The kids remind me that it was something more along the lines of "If any of you come near me you'll walk away with a limp".:rotfl2:
