Today we spent all day at Disney/MGM Studios. Again it was totally packed, and all of the lines were miles long. The first thing we did was to get fast passes for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster! We then agreed to meet for lunch and split until then. Sophie came with Rob and I today, so we took her for her first experience of Muppets 3D! Not as scary as the bug one but still a classic!

We also managed to get straight onto the Backlot tour, although due to the new attraction MGM are building (stunt show) on the backlot, the tour was very different. The house facades have totally gone, which meant no Osbourne family lights attraction this year.

I also noticed that the earful Tower was not wearing its normal holiday wear of a giant santa hat. No idea why this might be though! A bit disappointing.

Once we all met up for a pizza at Toy Story’s Pizza Planet, it was time for our ride ont eh Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster! I love this ride, and it was every bit as good as I’d remembered!

Afterwards, we headed towards the Indiana Jones Stunt show as Rob’s Mum and Dad had fast passes for it. However, we stopped outside to watch the passing parade, so by the time we went in it was standing room only! We aborted that plan and came back to the villa for a relaxing 2 hour swim/hot tubbing! We all felt rejuvenated enough after our showers and deli style dinner to head back to MGM for the 10pm showing of Fantasmic! We also had evening Fast passes for R’n’R coaster! We also found tiem to get on the Great Movie Ride before joining the throngs of people waiting to get in to see Fantasmic. It was superb, the highlight of our day! Got back to the villa exhausted after another amazing day! Oh and I even caught some sun today!

Sunday 28th December 2003

As today is Rob’s parents last day, we decided to have an easy day. We started out by taking a drive north from the villa on the 27 to the Lake Louisa State Park. It was very swampy and totally deserted, but interesting to see.

When we were done with the nature section of our holiday (all 10 minutes of it!) we went for a Maccy D’s near to Disney. Then we went on to the Gaylord Palms (really?!) hotel to see their ICE! Exhibition. It was 9 degrees F in there, and I was wearing a short skirt and flip flops! You can see from my pics on the photo album thread how cold I was! The display was amazing, with 2 million pounds of ice carvings and sculptures (including 3 giant ice slides!). It was really something else. Some of the sculptures were coloured too, so it really was an impressive sight.

We eventually found our way out, by this time my toes were hating me, as they were literally painful from the cold!

We spent the rest of the day shopping at Orlando Premium Outlets before dinner at the Outback Steakhouse during happy hour!

Monday 29th December 2003

After waving goodbye to Rob’s parents at 8.30 this morning, we spent the entire day shopping. Dad took us on over an hours detour to avoid traffice on the 192, and ended up getting lost in the middle of nowhere, so it would actually have been quicker to have just waited in the traffic! We did somehow end up coming along the back of Disney, and got a wonderful view of the castle from the road! I didn’t know this was possible, and don’t ask where it was as I couldn’t tell you!

Dad dropped the four of us off at Belz while he headed off in true anorak style to the Mitsubishi dealer to buy ridiculous add ons for his 4x4 back home! We enjoyed a delicious Subway lunch, and shopped ourselves to near exhaustion! When dad came back to collect us, we went to Ross and Old Navy for yet more bargains, and then we made a second stop for dad at Mitsubishi, still not sure why!

We spent the evening with finger food (frozen TGI Fridays goodies!) and a game of our newly acquired Theme park monopoly!

Tuesday 30th December 2003

We all spent the day in Epcot today , taking in the sights and sounds of World Showcase which I love! It was a glorious day and again the park was packed! I’d be interested to know what the capacity of Epcot is?! Answers on a postcard to…….!

We started on the left at Mexico and followed round each country, going on the rides, browsing in the shops and watching the different performers. It was really wonderful, the only hitch was that when we had been heading away from Mexico, down some tiny tiny steps at the very beginning of our day and I felt my ankle pretty much freeze, then when I moved it all collapsed. Yes folks, I had done some serious damage from simply walking slowly, and spent the rest of the day limping around in severe pain with dad going on like a parrot, “We’ll get you a wheelchair, We’ll get you a wheelchair,” I can still hear him now! I think he just wanted easy access to the rides!

Anyway, on with the show: It took us around 5 ½ hours just to work our way around World Showcase! And no, that wasn’t due to my limping! We then took the monorail from Epcot to the Magic Kingdom to watch Spectromagic. We arrived early enough to take a ride on the WDW railroad. When we arrived back at Main Street station, we stood on the balcony overlooking Main Street and watched the parade from there, and we had a great view! Once the parade ended we decided to stay where we were to watch the Wishes fireworks one more time. And again, it was brilliant! Still yet to see the Magic Kingdom in daylight on this trip though!
