Monday 18th December
Today is our last full day at AKL and I am looking forward to moving to the Contemporary tomorrow. I woke up at 4am, 5am and 6am and then couldn’t get back to sleep. DD woke at 6:40 and DS at 7am. Everyone was starving this morning so we went to Boma again for breakfast. We were seated just after 7:30am and had a nice breakfast. DS ate 4 slices of bacon and 6 strawberries but DD and I ate more
I had a made to order omelet which was lovely
Some photo’s of the Lodge
When we finished we caught the bus to Epcot and got there just after 9am. There was a long line for bag check but we were soon through. We did Test Track first and rode all the way round with no break downs. Next up was Soarin and we managed to get in row 1. We tried the new Nemo ride it was a bit lame but OK. There isn’t a fastpass for this ride so if you go and there is a really long line do bother to wait.
I started to feel really rough with an upset stomach and wondered if it was the shrimp that I had a Sci-Fi Diner yesterday. We had a lunch ADR at Teppynaki and I didn’t fancy going but the kids were really looking forward to it so there was no getting out of it. We had a look in Mouseworks, got a “lovely” drink in Ice Station cool then went into the Character Connection for some pictures of the characters in their Holiday gear. It was really quite in here and we had a great time with the gang. We passed by later in the day and the lines were huge.
We took the boat over to Morocco only because we have never done this before and walked to Japan. We got there for our ADR time of Noon and just before the restaurant opens all the Chef’s and servers line up and give a greeting in Japanese. We were called to our table and we were sharing with a Dad and his two teenage kids from Texas and a Dad and his son from Finland who were great company.
We had a lovely Chef and she put on a great show including making a volcano, which the kids though was hilarious.
It was an enjoyable meal but I was too sick to eat anything so we will come back again in the summer and bring DH. We got the boat back across the lake and caught the bus to AKL and the kids were back in time to do the 3pm activity, which was Animal Bingo so they were happy.
I was still feeling very rough and persuaded the kids to go back to the room by 5pm. I managed to get some washing done and pack the cases for our move tomorrow and get something for the kids to eat. Then I was sick
I got into bed just after 6 as I was shivering and dozed on and off. I asked the kids to put the lights out at half 8 which they did.
Weather Warm and Sunny we only needed shorts and T-shirts.
