Tuesday 2nd January
I forgot the camera today so there is only one photo which is borrowed from another day.
Today was our last full day and as the weather was cloudy we decided to go to Seaworld. I got every one up and out by 8:45am which was a miracle. We arrived at Seaworld at around 9:15am and went straight to Kraken. DD felt sure she would be able to ride as she was just too short in the summer and today she was wearing her runners, which gave her a bit extra height. She was tall enough on the height chart but they made her walk under a metal bar which had a swinging arm at the right height. Although the arm touched her hair it could still move freely so they wouldnt let her on. She was gutted but at least she should be tall enough to ride in the summer. We waited while the boys went on then it was back to the Cyprus Bakery for some breakfast. There was a bit of a line but it didnt take too long to get served.
After breakfast of coffee and a shared muffin for DH & I, a chocolate croissant for DD and some chocolate cake for DS we made our way to one of our favorite shows Pets Ahoy which was as good as ever. From there it was on to the sky tower and we had a great view. I had to laugh at a kid next to us who wanted to know if she could see Jacksonville.
We could see that a Believe show was about to start and we did a bit of speed walking to get there in time. The stadium was packed (except for the splash zone and we didnt want to sit there) We found some seats up high (although we couldnt all sit together) and waited for the show to start. It seemed shorter than in the summer with more trainers and less whales. It was nice to see the baby Shamu though.
DS and DD wanted to do the bungie trampoline and its always been way too hot in the summer so we went there next. DD was up first and she loved bouncing really high. When it was DSs turn he did a few bounces and then looked scared. I asked him if he wanted to stop and he said yes. It seemed that the straps were hurting him and he just didnt want to do it. Surprisingly they gave me a refund for his go.
DD wanted to see Clyde and Seymour but DS didnt so DH and DD went off while DS and I did the Penguin encounter. DH said the mime artist was there when they arrived and rather than be the subject of one of his mimes DH went straight up to him and shook his hand and felt his muscles. Everyone though this was hilarious especially when the mime did the "call me" sign
.
It was raining when DS and I came out from the penguins so we made our way back to the main entrance to wait for DH and DD. DD loved the show and wanted to see it again. As there was a two hour wait and it was raining I said no and she had a major meltdown.
We left Seaworld and the rain meant we wouldnt do mini golf or swimming so we went back to the room. DH dropped us back at the lobby while he went to park the car as it was raining. The kids spotted the lifeguards playing games under the Christmas tree and wanted to join in. I explained that DH would be going back to the room and I had the key and the guards said it was OK for the kids to play while I went to let DH into the room. I went and let DH in and he got started on the last of the packing while I went back to the kids. They were playing Disney trivial pursuit and having a great time. I sat in one of the arm chairs near the Christmas tree and people watched. DH came down about an hour later and we waited for the kids to finish their game. They finished about half 3 and then we set off for our ADR at Crystal Palace.
We took the boat and headed for the barbers shop once we got into MK. There were a few people in front of us but it was soon our turn. DS got a number 2 with no sprinkles, DD got a trim and sprinkles and I got a hair cut. It came to $55 with tip, which I though was good value.
It was still raining when we left so we went through the shops and made the final dash to CP. We were a bit early for our ADR but didnt have to wait too long to be seated. It was then I realized Id forgotten the camera again. When piglet came round I explained that wed forgotten our camera but we had a hug anyway. His minder heard that we didnt have a camera and a few minutes later she arrived at our table with a disposable one and said it was a gift as part of the Year of Million Dreams. She also arranged for Piglet to come back for a photo.
We finished dinner and the kids wanted to go to the Tiki Room. They did Swiss Family Tree House first and DH and I waited at the exit, watching all the people getting soaked by the spitting camel. It started raining again when we came out of Tiki Room so we decided to go back to VWL and took the boat this time. The kids played with the Nintendos and DH and I finally finished the packing. We watched Americas Funniest Videos (which DS though was hilarious) before bed at 10pm.
Weather - raining all day - still shorts and T-shirts plus a zip top and poncho
